These are not shields or guards. They have no waterproof backing and are not intended for standalone use. As designed, they absorb some urine while allowing the excess to pass through and into the main diaper/pullup thus increasing the absorptive capacity of the combo. Paired with the LivDry Ultimate pullup, they offer the fluid capacity of much bigger and bulkier tab style diapers without the bulk. Buy the length that is appropriate for your use. I use the 14" and position them so the top of the booster is about an inch above the top of the absorptive pad at the front of the pullup. This positions the booster for maximum coverage and fluid absorption while still assuring that they do not interfere with the rear "pouch" in containing fecal matter.

Because of an illness causing bladder incontinence, I usually wear an underwear specifically made for this problem. However, even though I buy the maximum strength, I sometimes find it's not enough. Then I learned about these booster pads to place inside the "underwear." They have helped so much! Now, even when there is a bad day, my clothing remains dry, & I am not worried when I am outside. They are also very comfortable, essentially not even noticed when they are being used. I definitely recommend the LivDry Incontinence Booster Pads.

The pad could be a bit wider using these pads w manufacturers LivDry briefs sometimes slows a little leakage from the side. In all cases LivDry absorbency is excellent and pricing is more than reasonable

Highly recommended for peace of mind for people (men or women) who worry about having an accident or more than just a little dribble. My husband needed something "extra" above and beyond incontinence underwear when we wanted to go out for dinner or to a doctor appointment. Adding this to the inside of his underwear gave him the confidence he needed that he would not have an "accident" if he couldn't make it to a bathroom or if we were on the road somewhere. It has an adhesive strip that holds the pad in place. He said it was comfortable to wear - didn't bunch or chafe. Most times this pad soaked up all the liquid and never got to the original incontinence underwear so no leaking.

The brand I typically purchased for my patient was not available so I tried these based on the amount of fluid it holds and the adhesive back. I normally purchase Wellness excellerator brand or in a pinch Tranquility Topliner. Since the topliner is peach colored I was wanting a white pad so that I could monitor the color of the patients urine due to bladder issues and these were white and held a good amount of fluid. They are more expensive than I wish but the quality is very good. I really like that they are made in Japan versus China because the quality is much better. They do not fall apart. They swell up like any booster when full but also allow liquid to flow through to the absorbent diaper as well. I doubled them side by side slightly over lapping instead of stacked on top of each other and they worked very well through the night with no leaks. I like that they are a few inches longer than the other brands. I purchased the extra long ones and they are longer than other long ones I have purchased and that is a good thing for bed ridden patients. I wish they were less expensive but some things you just have to buy to save extra misery later. Keeps from having to change the bedding, gowns from leaking. These are a life saver for care takers.
