  • The Definitive LittleBigPlanet Game
This past week I've taken a critical look at LittleBigPlanet Vita; I have played through the Story Mode as well as spent a chunk of time in Create Mode. First I'll start with the new Story Mode. While it may seem a bit shorter than previous games, it is packed full of exciting gameplay, a great story, whimsical characters that will not leave you disappointed. Some may be worried that the Vita's touch capabilities will leave us with a gimmicky game, and while they did implement both front and rear touch throughout the levels to showcase the new capabilities, I never felt as if I was being beat over the head with it. In addition to the normal levels and challenge levels we've become familiar with in past games, you also gain access to an Arcade section with full fledged mini-games. Each of these minigames have a handful of levels that you progress through with some very fun gameplay (my favorite is Tapling). I would go deeper into the awesomeness that is the story of LBPV, but I don't want to spoil anything for you guys. Next up is Create Mode. If you've already spent time in the LBP2 create mode, you'll be able to jump right in and get creating. However, I'd suggest spending sometime looking through all the Tweak and settings menus of the familiar tools, you may find exciting new additions to them (such as the wonderful new abilities that come with the Note). In addition to all these new tweaks, we've been given all new tools to work with. I'm sure everyone has heard about the Memorizer by now, and I believe it's going to allow creators to make bigger and better levels that were previously not feasible. For those who are looking to squeeze every last bit of thermo into their levels, you will love the dephysicalizer which allows you to remove the Physical properties of parts in your level which will reduce the thermo used. Now I want to address those who are worried about taking the plunge into a handheld system. I'm pretty picky when it comes to handhelds and the Vita is the best handheld I've owned since the Sega GameGear; it's weight, size, and button placement give a very natural feeling while playing it. This comfortable feel combined with LBP captivating (and addictive) gameplay, you tend to forget you are playing on a handheld system. It no longer feels like handheld gaming, it just feels like gaming. And call me fanatical, but I believe LBPV is well worth the price of the Vita. ... show more

  • Vitas mario
This is the best vita games and truly ill tell you why the vita is the best portable games console. It has all the great platforming of the ps3 versions only with a real storyline and excellent touch controls. And finally the rear touch pad has a purpose, I always thought that was the most pointless feature of the vita but it's pretty amazing pushing things into the screen. Also taking pictures with the vita cameras for textures and putting you into the game works far better than the ps eye. The graphics are gorgeous and you can do everything. In the consoles like customize your character and pod, make your own levels and download the thousands Online and take them to go. Then play online with 4 people which wasn't in the old psp version. This is an amazing Game and the last portable game you will need the community makes tons of mario, ico, silent Hill levels or anything else you can imagine. Simply amazing, and now with the touch controls I think ill finally make some levels because the touch controls make it so much easier like in mod nation racers. I would highly recommend to mario lovers as it's like that only with multilayer, online, customizable characters, customizable levels, trophies, use your own pictures, near, voice acting, and infinite games to download. This from an owner of 3ds and loves super mario 3d land, this game outclassed it in every way. ... show more

  • Go buy a vita!
To make this short and sweet, little big planet vita and super mario land for the 3ds are the two best games I've played in the past 6 years. I would actually have to say that little big planet vita is better than super mario land, because it's much more diverse when considering the downloadable levels and level designer with all the mini games included. People are complaining about the length of the game, but I think it's the same length as super mario land. I will probably play through it around 4 more times as I did the same with mario land. The only problem I've seen so far is that I preordered it and I can't redeem my free bioshock mini pack. In closing, trust me when I say that this game is worth buying a vita for. Also, think about how cool it is to be able to go from playing lbp to a console like game and even the great ps1 titles like resident evil 1,2,3. I love the vita and I will never let it go. I just hope that more people decide to buy it in the future so we can have more support and possibly even another handheld from sony. ... show more

  • Great create tools!
Definitely a good game to pick up if you have a Vita. The graphics are comparable to the PS3 LBP games with the exception of the fire and smoke effects on vita aren't up to par with the console. The game obviously takes advantage of the tilt and touch mechanics of the vita. There's an arcade section where there are 5 iphone type games used with only touch controls. I'm not sure if others have the same problem but online mode is pretty bad. It takes an extremely long time to load a user created level; a cool thing you can do though is download user created levels to play anytime without an online connection. I also had tons of lag to the point that it was unplayable most of the time when I played online with another player, only once did I have a lag free game and it played just fine. The best part about this game are the create tools. You can create touchable objects to use with the front or rear touchpads. You can also use the vita camera to take pictures for stickers. You can use the microphone to record sound effects or voice dialog. This is definitely a buy if you enjoyed the LBP games on PS3. ... show more
