This is my third pair of Little Donkey Andy shorts for this mature and ... oh, Lordy, senior and active ladies! ... whoosh, when Mother Nature decided that now I was in my 70's to add fat all over me! What? So I walked the Camino and now walking trails in Piedmont region of North Carolina. I have my house and car keys on a caribiner and hook 'em to back belt loop (tossed the belt). Front right pocket will hold iPhone 8 in an Otter Box. Wash in anything (Dr Bonners or in regular wash with anything else, cool water setting best option), HANG to dry. And dry they will and even if a bit damp, will dry with body heat if you have to get back on the trail the next day. Great price, sure beats REI options! Look, these shorts are not going to hold in that tummy you've been trying to tame. These are washable, wearable, sturdy outdoors/gardening/beach walking/camping shorts. etc.., etc., with handy zips and belt loops. Period. And affordable. ... show more

I promise I am not a bot! These shorts are terrific, I ordered about 5 more after getting the first pair. (I laundered it first to make sure size and color stayed true - they did.) Super light weight, love the zippered pockets. Unlike another poster, I do find them big enough for my phone (iPhone). I could see if you had one of the really really large ones it might not fit. They run a little big, but not enough to order a size down. They look better on than the pictures suggest. ... show more

Very pleased with these shorts, overall. I bought several pairs for a recent trip to Africa. I like the fit. I wear a Medium. Pockets were nicely functional and could accommodate my iPhone XR. My only quibble (see my pictures) is that they shrink in the dryer. Considering their fabric makeup, I was surprised by the shrinkage. The pictures show that my grey pair of shorts, that were cold washed but went through a hot dryer, shrunk quite a bit as compared to the blue and green pair, which were machine washed and hung dried (no shrinkage). ... show more

NIce light weight shorts. Great shorts for those with small waist and larger hips. Shorts have a stretchy feel to them. Did not shrink or fade after washing (I ordered black).     • Sizing a little off.

I bought 2 pairs, both size XS (I am 5`2" and 120lbs). The first pair I received fit just slightly loose at the waist, but nothing the belt didn't take care of. Pockets are awesome (can easily fit my iPhone 6 in its Lifeproof box & zip up pockets). Very comfortable to wear, material is soft, dried quickly after a long sweaty hike. The second pair , I'm not so impressed with the sizing, as soon as I put them on they felt smaller on my waist. I checked the waist against the first pair and there was nearly a 2" difference (smaller). Fortunately for me it just made them snug at the waist but not uncomfortable. The material was also not so soft even though the label says exactly the same as the first pair. Pockets still great, great for hiking. Really like both but the sizing difference bothers me, I like consistency. Both washed well, line dried in about 10 minutes in Arizona. ... show more

The style, quality, comfort and performance are fantastic. The sizing is the problem. Based on all the reviews I read the sizing is all over the board. Some say the fit is perfect, some say too small and others too large. For that reason I was particularly careful and took my measurements and followed the sizing chart. Based on that chart I should wear a small. Because of the stretch I was able to put them on but they are as tight as yoga shorts. It looks like they are painted on! While they are still very comfortable it is not a look I choose to wear in public. Because I needed them for a kayaking trip I kept them and the performance is top notch. The water mostly runs off and they dry very quickly. The picture shows the shorts on the model as loose fitting (I realize she is very thin) but either she is not wearing her size, the chart is wrong or the manufacturing process is very inconsistent. I have since ordered another pair two sizes up and hope they fit like normal shorts. Not very confident though :( Other than all my griping about the size, these shorts are fantastic!! ... show more

I originally ordered XL, they were quite a bit too big for me. I returned them for a large and they’re skin tight. The difference between XL and L shouldn’t be that drastic. I do like them though, I figure once I lose some weight, the large will fit better, so I’ll keep them. I was unsure which size to buy. From the manufacturer sizing, I would be S but after reading other reviews I ordered M. This is exactly the same as a size 6 in a pair of shorts I already have. I think the S would have fit round the waist, but may have been tight on the hips. I haven't washed them yet so don't know about any shrinkage. I am 5'4" and 135 pounds and am size 4 or 6 depending on brand. The shorts look great and are good quality, lightweight and great for walking. ... show more
