Liquitex heavy body artist acrylic paint has a thick consistency for traditional art techniques using brushes or knives, as well as for experimental, mixed media, collage and printmaking applications. Impasto applications retain crisp brush stroke and knife marks. Good surface drag provides excellent handling and blending characteristics with increased open- working time. High pigment load produces rich, brilliant, permanent color. Set includes vivid Lime green, medium Magenta, light blue permanent, yellow light hansa, cadmium orange hue, brilliant Purple. I’ve been using Liquitex heavy body 2 oz paints for many years. They are full of pigment and very nice colors to choose from. I bought the full set and also some extra colors I love. These go a long way so I suggest small pools of paint to start. Excellent caps too.

I usually paint on canvas with thinner paint because it’s easier to work with I bought this paint because it was suppose to be thicker and I needed to paint a blank resin figure. It definitely did the job. It’s the first figure I’ve painted so I don’t have anything else to compare it to but it did take a lot of coats of paint and I found the paint difficult to work with because it’s thick it seems to get tacky very quickly so I struggled to make sure the texture was smooth I didn’t really want brush lines all over the figure. I think the paint was good though I just had to figure out how to work with it for what I needed. ... show more

I mostly do charcoal drawings but thought I would go back to a medium I had tried long ago - acrylics. -Quality - Even though I'm not a professional or have little recollection of paints from long ago, I can say these acrylics seem to be good quality. - Colors - Vibrant colors but the white seemed a little chalky and required more thinning during the application even though I had primed the canvas. - Work ability - Even though it's heavy body and supposed to allow more time to work with before drying, it did seem to dry out fast. Maybe a paint conditioner may help. - Primary colors - I was a little disappointed in the color combinations since it seemed that I had to buy different packages to get a good variety. - Price - The price was just ok for the size of the tubes. - Recommendation - Would recommend for piddlers like myself. More serious artist already know what to buy. May explore other options if I decide to keep it up and need to reorder. ... show more

Great quality. Small tubes but a little goes a long way. VERY glossy but very opaque. Dries a little fast so work time is pretty fast. But overall really nice and professional paints and worth the price. Colors are true to the color shown on the outside of the tube as well which is great
