  • Hey! These are pretty darn good!
Size: With Mic Color: ZSN PRO X, Gold
I bought my KZ ZSN Pro-X's about a month ago. I have used the KZ's quite often, and they don't bother my ears or ear canals at all. But If you have tiny ear-holes like I do, I would put on the small tips, and then use the "Earplug" technique when putting them in your ears. That is, to reach over your head with your left hand and gently tug upwards on the pinna (the top of your ear. AKA Auricle) while inserting the phone with your right hand. Make sure it's fully seated. them release your pinna. Switch hands and repeat for the other side. When these lil baddies are situated properly (And that's important! They, as with all in-ear phones, MUST be seated properly to deliver their full potential!) These are quite amazing. They're 25 ohm impedance, so they can be driven without a headphone amp, and still get uncomfortably loud. So mind your volume before plugging in! No artificially enhanced.. anything. Just the raw audio, ready to be tuned to your own liking by your players EQ. (I use AIMP for music and MPC (yes, still) for movies) They are not going to be equal to audiophile grade headphones, so don't come into this expecting that. (Hence the less than perfect 5-star rating on sound-quality) But make no mistake. These are good! These are much better than my gaming headset for watching movies. They sit level with the rest of my ear contours, meaning they don't stick out like typical "buds" or look like you left swabs in your ears like those apple bud things. I got the gold just because I liked the how those looked, but there are several colors to choose from. I have not yet tried them outside, but I didn't get them for that. These are NOT noise cancelling, and have no active ANC They do have a more open soundstage that you'd expect for in-ears. So far, the quality is holding up, (I do not needlessly plug, and unplug them from their cables or ball them up in a pocket) The sound is better than my Raycons. The ONLY con I have experienced is that the cables that you get are NOT the cool looking braided ones in the photos. It is a typical Siamese cable (two coaxial cables, bonded side-by-side) as on most any wired buds. But these are transparent like speaker wire. But that is aesthetic and do not detract from the functionality of these awesome IEM's In conclusion, If you want good, budget in-ears, that sound great, fit well and don't protrude from your head, and look cool as well... Get these. I have no regrets, and have been buying more as gifts. I'll buy my fourth set tonight. Just get 'em. Pick a color, and get 'em! P.S. I should mention that bought the set with the mic included. These have the 4-pin (4 different conductor bands) plug. Mic and earphones in one, as would be a cellphone headset. My PC, which I use these on, has separate mic and headphone jacks. I bought an adapter that plugs into both jacks and merges them into the one 4-pin style jack. So if you have separate jacks, and wish to use the mic as well, consider getting an additional adapter. Otherwise if you use these with a phone or audio player, and/or are getting them without a mic, you're good to go. ... show more

  • Wanted to not like these
Size: With Mic Color: CRN, Black
So these IEMS are honestly really good especially given the price. TL;DR I'm a bit of an audiophile, I got into "it" as a basshead but as time went on I slowly started to prefer a flat signature, I would even say I appreciate the V-tuned signature KZ is known for and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem is that having that signature across all genres is kind of annoying. My journey into this hobby started with me only having access to bass heavy IEMs and trying to listen to Sinatra, it just didn't work. From then I started to appreciate, really really appreciate, flat sounding headphones and IEMs. It was a gradual journey but here I am. The beauty with flat is that it give you a lot more room to EQ them. These are very solid for that and I'm a bit surprised. I didn't want to like these because I don't always agree with the guy who tuned these, I'm not name dropping but do a bit of research if you're interested, so my plan was to buy these and be like yeah we are different. For example he loves the HD600 and I prefer the HD650, minor disagreement but still. With that said with these I was just kind of hoping to think they were fine and add them to the drawer of IEMs I have but these might actually replace my AKG N30's which is crazy considering these are sub-$40 and the N30s originally retailed for $200 (I didn't pay that tho)... Now I don't love these, they have a truer IEM design imo which tends to bother my ear physically, with like the little insert part that goes in the mid-upper ear for stabilization. I prefer an IEM that goes into the ear with minimal interaction beyond the driver. On a sound quality front I think these might actually sound better than my AKGs, which I need to dig out of my bag since I only really use them while traveling and do some side by side listening. It is still crazy I can't tell off the bat which one is better... Now my main complaint when it comes to sound quality is that the treble is a bit much, I wish that was reigned in a bit more and if anything it says I might not have the tolerance for treble some people do, which might be why I favored bass originally. That said EQing can probably fix this, I did experiment with bass boosting and I was legitimately impressed because it not only handled it well but I felt like they transformed into bass emphasized IEMs like nothing. Now some other notes, firstly I hate silicon tips so I threw some comply foam tips on them. They always improve the fit and comfort for me with ALL IEM's they have just become a normal thing for me. T-500 fit these just fine. The cable kind of sucks and I might replace it if these replace my AKG's overall. So with comply tips and an improved cable these could definitely run over $60-$70 and the question is that a fair price. I am still not 100% sure hence the 4 stars but I am leaning towards yes. ... show more

  • They sound like my $60 wireless headphones for less than half the price
Size: With Mic Color: ZSN PRO X, Gold
Really clean sound. First time with IEMs, had to fiddle around with to discover how to connect them correctly lol I highly recommend making sure you connected them correctly with an audio polarity test. Easy to find one online with a quick Google search. Pretty comfortable as well. I will experiment with other tips to see what's good. By far the best earphones I've had (not that that means much considering I've only spent <$30 on headphones xD). ... show more
