Got these for the bunk beds that we have for the kids in the house. They are ages 10 and 7 and are of average weight. The mattresses are just the right thickness given their size and weight. I tried it myself and can definitely feel the bars for the bunkbed when I sit, and when I lay down as well, but I am much bigger than the kiddos. This little mattress does the job for occasional use similar to types of mattresses on a “pullout” sleeper sofas. Not designed for comfortable sleep for EXTENDED periods of time. Great for the occasional guest but not very thick. I’m 154lbs and could feel the slats/ribs of the twin foldable metal platform frame which I also ordered from Amazon. However, it works for achieving the look I was going for which was a twin bed styled as a daybed for my small home office. I did layer with a thick comforter and have slept comfortably on it from time to time BUT this is not my primary bed. I have concerns about the material since I read about fiberglass issues after I had already purchased and setup. Hope I do not come across any such problems in the future! ... show more

((Short Version: my husband and I used to sleep on a really firm bed and switched to this one, woke up the first morning with little to no pain)) My husband and I recently moved, and have spent the past three years sleeping on a decently hard bed. We're both side sleepers so it caused our hips a lot of pain and I knew I needed to find something a little softer, then I came across this bed. I was unsure at first, but after reading some of the reviews I decided to give it a try, so I ordered it to my roommates home a few weeks before I showed up. The day before we were scheduled to arrive, I asked how setup was going and they said they completely lost track of time and hadnt opened the mattress box yet, and I immediately got nervous about the bed having time to fully expand. After a 15 and a half hour car ride, we both were in so much pain we could barely move around, so we laid down on the mattress without putting a sheet on it. When I woke up the next morning, it was with ZERO hip pain, and it didn't kick in until about halfway thru the day. We've been sleeping on it for about four days now and I have zero complaints ... show more
