This is a cheap mattress. The more expensive memory foam mattresses have a lot more layers and thicker layers of the actual memory foam material. This one is so thin that it ultimately does not matter.

The mattress is far from firm. It's also a cheap foam material. After washing the removable and washable cover it became destroyed. I followed the instructions for washing and the entire topper unraveled. Not only that it does make you itchy as someone else pointed out.
