I placed the 4" topper onto our Serta memory foam mattress, and now, it sleeps like a cheap mattress on top of a box spring. I don’t even know where to start with this mattress topper. It’s not completely horrible and I did get some good rest out of it occasionally, but overall it does not work for me at all. First, this topper is HOT. And I mean so hot. Multiple friends of mine have stated the same after laying on it, so it is not just me. I do not usually sweat much at night and actually tend to get cold, but I do leave my AC running for some breeze. If it is above 60 degrees Fahrenheit, no matter the fan or AC, you will wake up drenched in sweat. And if you’re sick, it’s just an awful feeling. The memory foam absorbs your body heat and basically makes a furnace under your back when you lie down, you can feel it almost immediately. I’ve woken up multiple times drenched in sweat, which NEVER happened before I got this, and each time I always feel a bit under the weather for the day. As for the material, it is really soft and feels nice to the touch, but it really sinks down when you lay on it, which definitely contributes to the heat. I thought I would like it at first, but it became really uncomfortable and awkward. It’s just not ideal to sink down into the memory foam like that, not to mention that it is not very good for your body or joints. It also is really hard to move around on, just getting out of bed really takes some effort because it sucks you down so much. I didn’t have any body pain while sleeping on it which was a plus, but my sleep quality was very hit or miss depending on the night and temperature. For reference, I didn’t have a lot of body pain before, but sometimes my shoulder would hurt if I slept on my side for too long. It did not hurt on this mattress topper. For that, I give it two stars. Otherwise, there is really nothing else positive that I can say about this topper. It slides very easily because there is nothing holding it to the bed, so after a few days you have to keep readjusting the topper to put it back centered on your mattress. Also, you really have to pull it the right way or it will rip, as shown in the photo. This has happened in two spots, which isn’t a big deal to me, but something to note about quality. And lastly, it still has a strong foam smell after 2 months. I’ve had this less than 100 days, but Amazon will not give me a refund because it was over a month when I finally decided I couldn’t take it anymore. I feel like with a mattress or topper, you should really have a little more time to try it out, as 100 days is the standard. Either way, I’m basically throwing this away after 2 months and can’t get a refund which is really unfortunate. I tried to like it, but it did not work for me and I’m not sure how anyone would enjoy this in the long run. I would recommend finding a cooling mattress topper, or anything else really that is not just memory foam. ... show more

Day 1: I am blown away. This mattress topper is a 10/10. I ordered it because I recently changed from a standard spring mattress to a memory foam mattress. I love my mattress, but it's a bit thinner than the spring mattress was and I missed the height. I also found that the cover of the memory foam mattress was stretching out and thought a topper might alleviate some of the strain on the mattress covering itself. So in any case I found this VERY affordable mattress topper and ordered it on impulse. I got a little worried when some reviewers said it was too soft but I rolled with it. I'm glad I did. Unpackaging was a breeze. Less than an hour to expand. No weird smell as some reviews indicate. I did however give it a spritz of my favorite fabric freshener just because that's a bed-making habit of mine. After a very restful hour nap, I can say with 100% certainty that this is an awesome purchase. The firmess to squish ratio is awesome. The added height makes my fitted sheet fit soooo much better with less slip. Now for the disclaimer: Foam. Is. Soft...... Foam. Is. Not. Firm. But this is the least soft foam I think I've ever laid on, amd that is a GOOD thing. A lot of foams have too much gove and you end up being swallowed alive. Or they are so soft that to get out you literally have to roll out because its physically impossible to sit up. But this is just right. I am VERY pleased. I will update after 1 week. SAME DAY UPDATE: okay I take back the no smell thing. Theres a bit more plastic smell than I thought. It will need more time to breathe than I thought. Not overwhelming though. Still workable. A year later and it still feels great. Moved in with my partner and we purchased a cal king size one to put in our bed. The full is now a spare bed (though our cats think it belongs to them lol). Cal King size gets the same rating as the full. Still fits well, the smell dissipates quickly, BUT the larger sizes will take longer to decompress and fill out. Keep that in mind. Don't be discouraged if it takes a while. Open it up early in the day, mist it with water or fwbreeze as it helps it unravel, and by night time, you have the most comfortable bed ever. I will say....I do not recommend using this UNLESS you use it with a fitted mattress topper/protector. Having the extra squeeze from the mattress protector keeps edges of the topper vs the edges of your mattress less noticeable. So I strongly strongly strongly recommend buying a fitted mattress protector with a slight quilting to make this topper even better. My partner and I love it. ... show more

    • A LITTLE DISAPPOINTING

The mattress did not "inflate" evenly, so I have flat spots in the mattress. I've reached out to the company to see if they will replace it. This seems to be a nice mattress topper, it just doesn't look like the picture online, since it's compressed in some areas.
