I'm fairly new to welding, picked up this helmet because it had the biggest lens for me to see out of which was my issue with other helmets. Needless to say visibility is good. It's comfortable with my long hair, the auto-darkening works great, and the designs they have are pretty cool.

I'm a structural steel welder working with Lincoln MIG machines/feeders and this helmet was excellent for a while. The structure on the inside is fantastic and helped reduce my neck pain by a lot. The main problem is the reliability of the auto-darkener insert. When I run a bead for a few feet the helmet will randomly stop it's operation and I'd get flashed raw by my weld gun which is just not okay; and directly effects my ability to produce quality at work. At first I thought it was just the battery being from the factory and replaced it; but it started again after a few weeks. If it was just rapid power consumption it's not like I can't afford a few dozen 2450 batteries, but the low battery light in the helmet doesn't blink at all and it just randomly shuts off. For my health I stopped using this helmet which was disappointing to say the least. ... show more
