They do exactly what they're supposed to do. They clamp. Will buy more in the near future. They're not the heaviest of duty, but for using them for most types of photography, these will work well.

These work very well for what they are and the price point offered. However be careful not to leave them clamped to toyr stands for a long period. I left them on my backdrop stand for a couple days, and while doing some computer work heard a couple loud pops and realized 2 of them had exploded. Seems the spring is stronger than the plastic and if left under tension can bust quite dramatically I've never had one fail when taken off the stand after a photoshoot and stored in a bag. ... show more

Very handy to have in the studio. They are plastic but not flimsy and the springs that produce the clamping action are strong. I use them to hold reflectors/defusers/backgrounds etc... a must have item.
