My daughter, who is almost 4, recently became scarred of washing her hair. She had gotten some of my shampoo in her eyes and it stung. Ever since then she would not let me wash her hair anymore. Even with baby shampoo, no tear formula. I even went as far as rubbing shampoo in my own eyes to show her it would not hurt, but still, she was not having any of it. Every bath or shower turned into a huge fit, where she was screaming her head off, kicking and fighting me to the bone. The end would be a flooded bathroom and exhausted Mommy and daughter. Even taking shower with her and trying to talk her through it did not help. We tried cups, googles and sunvisors, but nothing worked. Finally I found this item here on Amazon. I searched it on youtube and found a demo video of it. I showed the video to my daughter and she was amazed at how the girl in the video was not crying and had no water or shampoo in her face or eyes. So, as a last ditch efford I decided to give it a try and ordered it. Not only was the shipping very fast, but this Lil' Rinser is worth every penny. We tried it out right away, and we had no problems at all. No water in my daughters face, no shampoo, no tears. It must have been the most relaxing and quiet shower ever in our house :) I cannot praise this item enough, I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a child that is fearful of washing hair. What you cant see in the pictures on here is that on the inside where the Rinser touches the head, there is a rubber "seal" like thing, with a groove in it that drains the wayer away from the head on both sides, kind of like a gutter I guess. This also seals to the head so water does not run down in the kids face... Again, super product, wish I had found this months ago. By it with no doubt or worries, this really works. Works When Used Properly

We bought this splashguard (my daughter calls it her "hat") and I didn't have any problems rinsing my daughters hair out the first time I used it. No tears, it was great! I explained to my daughter that it would keep water out of her eyes (it took a lot of simple explaining since she's under two, but she got it after a while; "no eyes" she said - great!). But the next night when my husband bathed her he said he wasn't impressed, which left me confused. After a few more bath times with Daddy my daughter started to really rebel against the "hat", which I thought was odd, after all we'd been off to such a great start. Long story short - my husband was not putting the "hat" on her head properly. You have to angle it down from the top of the forehead towards the ears and press it tight to the forehead (much like in the picture shown with the little girl getting her hair rinsed)for it to work, other wise it will leak. Daddy was putting on the "hat" like a basball hat - straight across instead of angling down. So now I'm back to square one (or worse) since my daughter now flips out whenever she sees the "hat" and she cannot be convinced to use it. Wish me luck. ... show more

Truly, no more tears! Worth its weight in gold!

I was so happy that this product works. My 20 month old used to scream when the water would get in her eyes, which it always would no matter what I tried (including a molded rinser cup) because she won't tilt her head back. Water does NOT get through this thing to their faces! My only challenge now is this: the 1st time I used it she was very happy to put it on and was even wearing it around the house like a hat. But the 2nd time, she didn't want to put it on, so it was more like trying to get a collar on a cat. Hopefully she'll get used to it and will be ok having it on. Update: we stopped trying to get her to tilt her head back at all because she likes to tuck her head down instead. So we don't use this. But it does work as advertised! Update 1 year later: She loves this thing and I never rinse her hair without it! ... show more

Nice idea...not so great in reality

I love the idea of this hat. My son...well, I think he likes the idea, too, but I don't really think it's that helpful in use. It has taken him months to allow me to put it on his head, even though he often wants to play with it in the tub. I think we've only attempted to use it to rinse his hair maybe 3 times. I've owned it for at least that many months. as other reviewers have said, you have to be careful how to take the hat off, otherwise to water all falls in the face anyway. Maybe if my son was a little older, he'd be able to understand the idea better? We'll see. He's 21 months, so we'll keep it in the bath area and maybe as he gets older it'll be more useful. ... show more

False advertisement and a waste of money

I bought this product for my 2 year old daughter to keep the water and soap away from her face. The pictures provided in the gallery show a wide opening that appears like it would just contour around her head with minimal effort. The picture I provided here is what I received. As anyone can see, they are clearly not the same. What we received is so small and has this awkward strap in the back that just gets more in the way. Every parent knows bath time with kids is not always the easiest and this thing makes it worse. I somehow have to pull the thing open hold back the annoying strap and wrap it around her head without irritating her enough that she just pulls away and get frustrated anyway. It looked like it would be so easy. Use one hand to put the visor on her head and the other to pour the water but I have to use both hands to get it set up and by the time I do she’s annoyed and weaving to get away from me. Very disappointed I wasted the money and pretty annoyed they can get away with sending out something completely different than what they advertise. ... show more

Thank baby Jesus for this!!!! My 3 year old suddenly hated having his hair washed because he didn't like the water on his face despite me using a folded wash cloth to try to keep the water off his face. The last few times he had a bath, he cried and barely let me wash his hair. I bought this thing and when I washed his hair, he said "this is actually fun!". So thankful for this!!! ... show more

Takes patience for kids to get used to it but then it works great!

I tried several things to keep the water out of my son's eyes (he is 22 months old) and nothing worked. He started to hate baths and cried every time he felt water on his head. He refused to tilt his head up so the water would run down the back of his head and instead looked down quickly whenever he felt water, resulting in water in the eyes every time. When I first tried this visor he still cried and moved his head and water still got in his eyes but it was better. I have used it for several weeks now and finally, last night, he seemed to get it. He finally let me use it without crying or suddenly moving his head and presto! No water in the eyes at all, either when I got his head wet or when I rinsed off the soap. He looked surprised about this lack of water in the eyes and happily played in the tub while I got his brother clean. It takes patience, especially the first few times when your kid moves his head suddenly so water gets in his eyes anyway, but eventually it works. Highly recommended! Update: my son is 4 years old now and we still use this for every bath. He hates getting water in his eyes - thankfully this keeps the crying to a minimum. Still recommended! ... show more

Rinsing hair is no longer a battle royale!

You guys!!! This thing works! My kid at 12 months really hated getting her hair rinsed. She wouldn’t let us tip her head back, so water would just be streaming down her face and into her eyes. Screaming and crying always ensued. It was making bathtime miserable. Enter this ingenious device. I took the advice of another reviewer (great tip!) who wore it as a hat during the kiddo’s bath to help with any uncertainty/fear. It took a few baths, but before long she was using it when we rinsed her head without complaint. No more water pouring down her face... and thus no more tears! We did cut the strap off it. Not sure if that would be helpful for a bigger kid, but on my now 15-month old, it was just always in the way. We do sort of hold it on her head on the sides to make sure the little rubber trough is making contact all around her forehead when we rinse her hair (and so she can’t just rip it off). Now my little one reminds us anytime we are bathing her about the “hat”. Sometimes insistently. She especially loves when my husband or I have it on before she gets to “wear” it. No regrets, would buy 100x over. ... show more
