I purchased the six pack and used four to hang the kids kayaks. The other two worked great to hang our beach chairs and other garage stuff such as extension cords and pressure washer hose. As others mentioned, if you are screwing into a stud the installation will be much easier if you're able to predrill for the screws. Also, be mindful the supplied screws have a hex head, so if you don't have the right driver handy they are likely to break or strip - nothing wrong with the supplied hardware, just novice users need to be aware. If you don't have a hex driver, it will be easier for you if you swap out the screws for long phillips head screws. Very good racks with lots of other uses if you're a little creative! ... show more

We put up one of the pair of racks on the side of our shed today. Setting the screws was a fairly easy process. They were positioned into 2x4s on the inside of the building. We sat the kayak on the racks. All appeared to be fine. About 30 minutes later, the kayak fell forward on the racks. It ended up a little more than 1' away from the shed. We were not able to reposition it back on the racks where it would rest on the shed. To give it extra support, to keep it from falling, we tied a rope to the rack and wrapped it around the kayak and back up to tie it on both end of the rope. It seems secure now. ... show more
