I suffer from adult acne and have tried numerous treatments. Most are too harsh for my skin and wind up making the acne worse even products with retinol. I bought this hoping it would make a difference. It has. It says you can use this with regular acne products but I don't. For me it took about a week before I noticed a difference. When I arrived, I had broken out pretty badly including cystic acne. I used this twice a day for 3 minutes on the trouble spots. Within a few days, I noticed healing and within a week, almost all the original acne was gone. I've kept using it and any flare ups are usually gone after one or two treatments (a day or two). I've not had a really bad case of cystic acne breakout since that first week and I haven't had a 'bad' breakout while using it. It appears to be working really well for me. I've not had the hyperpigmentation mentioned. There were a few days where I'd used the lightstim a little bit longer than 3 minutes in a few areas and when I pulled it away, there were indentations and marks where the device had been against my skin. Those took a couple hours to go away. I stopped doing longer sessions in the morning to prevent that. This does get somewhat warm as it approaches the 30 minute shut off. It's not painful but if your skin is really sensitive, you might want to use this in shorter sessions.

This worked wonders for my hormonal acne. I used it at least 5 times a week for 2 months and experienced a dramatic reduction in breakouts. Additionally, any breakouts that did appear would disappear within a day or two. After two months of using 5+ times a week, I went down to 3 times a week for a month, then once a week for a month, now I use it once maybe every other week for maintenance. My skin is pretty much perfectly clear now. And it’s tone and evenness is much better. Also BONUS!!! It helps fade bruises faster. I use it when I get a bad bruise (I bruise easily) and it breaks up the bruise in a few days (using for 10-15 min on the bruise each day). Typically it takes two weeks for bad bruises to mostly heal on me. So using this on bruises has been significant for me.

This absolutely appears to be working, not only on smaller acne but also moderately sized Cystic Acne! I usually hit the dermatologist to kill stubborn cystic acne, but this device has vastly improved the size of some of my cystic acne, and appears to be slowly killing off the stubborn suckers. In addition, if you get acne just as you feel it forming, it has been able to stop acne from erupting I had one on my temple which threatened to form, but this device stopped it and now there's not even a mark on my skin! important for people with more melanin bc just the threat of acne is enough to make a brown/red mark that takes longer than the lifespan of acne to fade!!! BUY IT!

UPDATE Just wanted to write an update and upgrade to 5 stars after having this for a year or so. I stopped using becuase my acne and roasacea had calmed down, I stuck this in a drawer and kind of forgot about it. Then I had a couple pimples crop up before vacation, so I pulled it back out. I forgot how effective it was- the pimples calmed and healed quickly AND another thing I noticed is that it got rid of a bunch of little blackheads, whiteheads and I swear it has even tightened my skin a bit. The other thing I like about it is it doesn't dry my skin like cleansers or topicals. I think I will continue to use preventatively to keep my skin in its best shape! I am fair skinned, 46, and over the past few years have developed mild rosacea and adult acne. Its been frustrating as nothing seems to calm it down...and I've tried most every topical and dietary change imaginable. Last year I did a halo laser treatment which helped, but at $500 its not something I can really justify regularly. I did a ton of research and found that blue light can be used for rosacea, and I also have mild acne, so for the price point I figured i could try this for a month and return if needed. I've been using it for just four days and am so far incredibly impressed with the results. The rosacea in my cheeks has calmed down considerably and my pimples (of which I was always struggling with at least a few) are gone. I spot treat, so mostly I just use on my cheeks, so I only need about 10 minutes a day with the device after washing my face. I've even noticed some old acne scarring starting to clear up, and some sun damage seems to be going away too. Feels like a pretty big win for the time investment. I'll update my review as time goes on.

i use it every day for the full length of time per beep (like a few minutes) and i see results. giving one star because a few things the manufacturer is shady about that others haven’t touched on: (1) they do not disclose the wavelengths and (2) it gets way too hot. first for the wavelengths: this is a medical device, so they should be ultra specific about which wavelengths of light are emitted from the device so we can compare to published data and ensure we’re getting optimal and safe treatment. second, the heat it generates is too high: it can make the skin quite warm. which feels good but it borders on too hot. there’s a lot of evidence that chronic exposure to high heat can cause premature skin aging (just look up published studies about premature wrinkles on bakers arms). The manufacturer should disclose technical device data.

I have been using this product for years now for my hidradenitis suppurativa, and it has done wonders for my flare ups! My skin was never as clear as it’s been until once I bought this light stim, and throughout the years I have always recommended it to others who have hidradenitis suppurativa. Very effective, and highly affordable considering you can do this at home instead of having to go to doctors for this treatment
