I love it. I love the ability to change so many settings. The only down fall is it needing to be plugged in. It would be nice to be able to do other tasks while getting red light therapy. But on the bright side, it makes me sit down and rest.

I got this for my better half, and after using it for a few weeks she swears that it has improved her skin health. I did some research before purchasing one of these and found that Newkey, had the most leds in the price range, and allowed for the color to be changed to treat different issues. I like that it is easy to use and she can set the timer and forget about it for 25-30 minutes. She mostly uses it on the blue and red light settings which she says prevent break outs and make her skin feel healthier. I am not a doctor or medical professional, but in my subjective opinion her skin does look healthier and she swears that it is so I am happy. My only complaint concerns the flashing or pulsing function. I can deal with a continuous soft glow, but when it starts flashing like a club, especially when the room is dark, I have to leave the room. While it may relax the wearer, the flashing is definitely a distraction/possible nuisance to everyone else (especially if you annoy easily). ... show more

    • Kind of uncomfortable, but Still better than another one I've tried and CS is Great.
UPDATED 11/2/23 After my original review, I looked for a different device and was duped into getting something that was terrible. I won't go into those issues with that one since it's not relevant to this mask except to say it did make me re-evaluate this mask from a different perspective. Because of this I have increased my review by another star. While it does have the weight issue that presses down on my nose leaving indentations, I did eventually get used to it and not get the headaches anymore. It took several more times of wearing and figuring out how/where to wear it. Good qualities: 1. 7 different light colors 2. Adjustable timer from 1 minute up to 20 minutes (High value to me, the alternate didn't have this) 3. Adjustable intensity from 1 - 5 levels (High value, the alternate didn't have this) 4. Strap that goes over and around to give better support than the ones that just have it in the back (High marks, the alternate didn't have this) 5. Eye Gaskets to protect your eyes from the LED (SUPER High value, the alternate didn't have this) Not so good: 1. A bit heavy (the alternate was only slightly lighter) 2. Must be tethered to a location near an outlet (the alternate was wire free) 3. Cord isn't that long and the control box is in the middle of the cord making it awkward to set it down without the weight constantly knocking it off or flipping it around. 4. The eye gaskets dig into your tender nose/eye area (but still better than the alternate which had NO eye protection and was blinding!!! Dangerous) UPDATE June 2023: I do want to note that CUSTOMER SERVICE is top notch! They reached out to me, which was kind of them, but I had already discarded the box and papers to the recycles. I should have waited, but the recycles went the same day and I try to keep my small space clear. I think customer service of that quality is rare today and increased my original rating because of it. UPDATE June 2023: did try a third time. Had to hold it because the weight is just way too much. Still dug into my eyes, but not as much. I'll have to see if I can figure out the trick to making it not leave marks. ORIGINAL May 2023 So far I have used this twice and both times it's given me a slight headache from the weight. I'm not sure I'm going to be very dedicated to it because it's uncomfortable to use. Maybe because I'm a smaller person?? First, I tried this with the strap attached and used it while trying to move about my business. It was heavy and somewhat uncomfortable, but I was able to tolerated it for the 10 minute prep test. Probably because I was distracted with the things I was doing at the time. The next time I used it without the strap as suggested (if too big for the face) and used it in a reclined position where it was VERY uncomfortable on the eyes. The eye shield gaskets (to protect your eyes from the light) dig into the tender eye-socket area above, but especially below the eyes. This is a heavy item with all plastic and the eye piece protrudes more than the other areas. I'm not looking forward to a 3rd time. Since I only have used it for the prep and then one other time, I can't say I see any improvement, but I the discomfort makes me leery of another go at it. ... show more

I've researched enough into red light to know that when I bought this it works fantastic, you can change the brightness, lighting cor for different penetration depths into your skin, I even rested it on my knee when it had a minor ache and went away

    • Disappointed but Hopeful - Only 4 of the 7 colors work out of the box
Tuesday - 9/13/22 - Right out of the box, only 4 colors work - Red, Blue, Light Blue and Green. The last three do not work at all. I have tried all sequences, flashing not flashing etc. I have unplugged, waited, plugged it back in, etc. Since I purchased this for acne and the blue is working, I tried it for kicks for 30 minutes on blue with the sensitivity set to 5. I have to agree with some of the other posts. The built in goggles have made my vision blurry and that area seems heavier than the rest. My eyes and forehead are hurting a little afterwards. It's not bad but feels "overly strained," like you have been squinting way way too long and I also have a mild headache from it. I will say based on the pictures in some of the reviews this device seems to work so I am going to give it the old "Beauty is painful" shot. I'm willing to have a mild headache if this works. I have fever blister like acne that has broken out for several months. I am 45. I have been in this awful cycle where it breaks out I have to cover it with makeup to go out and then you guessed it, it breaks out more because of makeup. I want some days to crawl up and hide. I currently have like 8 to 10 zits in a cluster on my chin and a few other large cystic acne spots on my checks. I have always had this problem and redness. They swell up like zits and nothing but clear fluid ever comes out. Scratch your face on the pillow in your sleep and the skin peels off and oozes again. I will try anything. A headache is not a concern, a least for now. I did keep my eyes open and laid flat on the bed reading my phone so I would suggest to just take a nap instead and keep your eyes closed. I also had my contacts in and realized that might have not been a good idea (dumber move). I forgot I had them in so I will try it next without them. After 30 minutes no pain or sensations other than the pressure from my eyes. No tingling or burning. My face is mildly red after treatment. I can definitely see the light brought blood flow to the area for sure. Blood flow and circulation promote healing so we will see. I will update progress in a few days and attach before and after pictures after 5 treatments unless something else happens. ... show more
