  • Excellent quality. Easy to assemble. Strong. Large. Heavy Duty
Color: Earthtone
What I did NOT want was the flimsy generic backyard swingset that was going to rust and crumple and just barely last long enough to see my kids grow up. What I wanted was something closer to the playground swings i remember as a child. Large and sturdy, designed to last for years. This swing set is a great compromise for the price. The hardware is solid and heavy duty. The manual states: "The maximum number of occupants that may safely use the entire play set including all components is three with a maximum weight of 405 pounds (184 kg)." The swingset is designed to not require anchoring in cement or stakes and it does a good job of living up to that because of its size and bulk. I would be a little concerned if three adults started swinging as hard as they could, but it seems to hold its own very well against young children. I found it a little challenging to put together, but nothing a little swearing and scraped knuckles couldn't overcome. It took two people to put it together. The one surprise/disappointment I had when it showed up was the size of the boxes. While I was expecting 5 long straight poles, in fact each of the legs as well as the top piece are built from 3 short tubes which fit together with friction and then are bolted. At first this concerned me, but once it is together, it appears that is a very sturdy design. The swings were too high for my 3 year old to reach, so I lowered one of them with some extra chain from the hardware store. I also had one of those plastic pink infant swings and it hooked easily onto the hooks for the trapeze swing without any modifications required. The first swing set I received, the boxes were beat up and full of large holes with parts sticking out. I refused the shipment and Amazon quickly replaced them with a 2nd one which came in excellent shape. It looks great in my yard and I'm very happy with it. ... show more

  • Great swings & Great Value albeit chains are too short.
Color: Earthtone
This was a great find and an amazing deal. My kids are 3 & 5 and most of the jungle-gym play options feature a swing set that is low. Meaning, the bar that the swings hang from is 5-7 feet off the ground. This height is great for 2-3 year olds but any older they will grow tired of the swings. I love that fact this is so tall - it will be used until the kids are at least 10 years old. The bars and connection is solid. I did not anchor this to the ground (as you don't need to) and have no fear for its build. Assembly was pretty straight forward. I did this entirely myself which I do not recommend. In assembling this myself I ran across two obstacles: 1: the placement and angles of the beams when screwing together (it would have been great to have someone else holding something up slightly to make screw holes line up) and 2: tilting it upright. This was a big challenge. Ultimately I used two ladders to slowly raise it more and more, moving one ladder closer and higher to rest the set as I rose it up - still very tricky and again, would not recommend. One of the screws snapped when I was assembling. Also, one of the green plates that holds together the beams came scratched. I called Lifetime and they sent out a replacement screw and a small jar of green polish/enamel to cover the scratch. My only complaint: the chains for each swing are not long enough. I am 5'9" and the length of the seats off the ground is perfect for me. Most kids don't need it this high and the longest setting is great for a 6-7 year old. My 3 year old has no chance in getting up by himself and my 5 year old struggles. A 5 year old should not be too short to get up on the swing himself and I have no idea why the chains didn't come a few inches longer. Perhaps since the swings is so high to begin with, giving more chain means more air-time? I found some "swing set clips" parts to attach to each chain and extend it a few inches - a $22 extra purchase but well worth it. Overall I would highly recommend this product. It's basic: just the twinset bars without a slide or playhouse, etc but really, its high-end and as tall as any swings at a playground. I'm glad I purchased this. ... show more

  • Great for big kids Great for big kids
Color: Earthtone
This thing is an absolute royal pain in the A** to assemble. It took two of us most of the day. Some parts were super easy but some were ridiculously stupid. Simply things like labeling the leg parts with A, B, C stickers instead of pictures leading you to sort them by their least-identifiable feature would have probably saved us an hour or two. Some information that clarified steps was found on the page AFTER the step you were completing, so look ahead if you get stuck. Definitely need two people for some steps - we were doing some gymnastics and creative propping to hold the legs at the right angle to connect them to the top. Also, I was too short to safely help my husband stand it up so we had to enlist a taller neighbor. We both came away with pinched skin and smooshed fingers. Do yourself a favor and read the review that talks about buying longer bolts for the top bar assembly - you will save yourself so much grief. Apparently some recently shipped ones come with these but ours did not. HOWEVER... now that it’s assembled... it’s magical!!!! Super sturdy, great clean lines, doesn’t budge when I, a full-sized adult, swing to the highest on it, or when all three spots are being used by kids (we don’t have it anchored yet). Really feels like playground quality for a few hundred bucks. Note how thick the bars are. This thing is EXCELLENT quality, low maintenance. Price is great for what you get. Perfect for big kids who have outgrown most backyard swing sets (we got it for a big 7 & 11 yo & they’ll be able to use it for years). ... show more

  • A true big-kid swingset. Fun for adults too. Assembly was rough. A true big-kid swingset. Fun for adults too. Assembly was rough.
Color: Earthtone
This swingset is very nice. The quality is far superior to your basic little metal swingset, which is what we replaced after our kids grew out of it. The lifetime set is good for adults, but I would recommend a set of anchors, because the legs will lift off the ground with an adult or large child swinging high. Assembly was challenging!!! Allow 4+ hours, and it’s best to have another set of hands. The most challenging part is attaching the side frames to the top cross bar. You may think the bolts provided are too short, but they are NOT. They are the EXACT SIZE needed, so you have to get the bars lined up JUST SO. With these heavy duty steel pieces plus the length and weight of these bars, that is difficult to do. My husband and I lined them up the best we could and clamped the pieces to squeeze them together so we’d have JUST ENOUGH of the bolt threads exposed, in order to BARELY get the caps attached. We then tightened as much as we could for the time being. Then we tightened each and every cap/nut again once we had the swingset standing. One complaint I have is there was a small dent in one of the bars on the legs, which irked me a bit. But I’m not docking a point for this because it is an outdoor piece afterall and a small, shallow dent. My number one concern before purchasing was “Would I be crazy to spend this much on a set for a 9 and 11 year old?? How long will we use it?” The answer is, It is plenty big. I’m mom and I enjoy swinging in it. So size is not an issue. It truly is a big-kid swingset. ... show more

  • Great swing - missing hardware a real pain
Color: Earthtone
I like this swing. It is sturdy (I don't know what gauge the metal support bars are, but I could only carry two or three at a time they are so heavy) and it's reasonably attractive with the earth tone colors. It is basic with two swings and a gymnastic bar with rings - no bells and whistles like towers, slides or climbing walls - but that was fine for us as we already have some other play equipment and didn't want to add a ton of stuff to our backyard. Safety wise it has a lot of good features like the fully coated chains on the swings. Two of our grandchildren came over to play the day after we assembled it and they liked it a lot. It did take both my husband and I a full afternoon to assemble. I was able to lay out the pieces and do a little pre-assembly myself but then two of us were needed to hold together the metal plates that secure the bars and you certainly need two people for the final step of lifting the swingset upright. Then you need a ladder to attach the swings, my husband is 6'5" and he couldn't reach the top to attach the swings without a ladder. An assembly tip I have is to attach all the hardware what is called "finger tight" (in other words tight enough it won't come apart but not as tight as you can get it with a ratchet set or a wrench). When we got the whole together and upright we went back and tightened everything very carefully with hand tools (a ratchet and a wrench). So why not five stars? Well, I opened the two boxes the swingset came in a month before I planned to set it up just to make sure everything was in the boxes. I pulled out the instructions and looked at the parts list. Sure enough, an entire bag of hardware was missing. I called the company and they sent me the bag of hardware (free) - it arrived in about ten days. I thought we were good to go but as we assembled the swingset we discovered even more hardware missing. My husband made two trips to Lowes and he was pretty well steaming by the second trip. Each hardware bag was missing key components, we purchased at least 14 large bolts and locking nuts at Lowes to finish the project (estimated cost: $15-$20). We fortunately live less than five miles from Lowes or this would have been an impossible job. I see that many other reviewers complain about missing parts and normally I would not deduct a whole star from a review for a missing screw or washer or some other small item, but the amount of missing hardware with this swingset was just ridiculous - and after I had called and had missing hardware mailed to me! I would strongly recommend that if you purchase this swingset you take the time to open all the boxes and hardware bags and using the instructions as a guide, inventory each and every component and piece of hardware. This won't be simple as it is large with many parts - you may have to spread some cardboard down in your garage and devote your garage to the layout of the pieces and the inventory - but it will totally be worth your time, especially if you don't live next door to a hardware store. ... show more

  • This is a serious swingset- like one you'd find on a playground- and awesome!
Color: Earthtone
Awesome swingset. Very sturdy and well built---you won't be disappointed. The reviews here were very helpful so we highly suggest reading them beforehand. A few suggestions we'd like to add: 1) You really want two people to set this up, especially the last steps. This thing is heavy and sometimes you will need help having someone prop it up to make sure it is aligned. 2) Follow the manual carefully. It is a bit irritating that items aren't labeled as that would have helped a lot. Read each section beforehand (there are 3) and count out the number of bolts needed that match the steps. That's about the only way to match up what you should be using. 3) We suggest you refer to the manual for the dimensions you should have *around* the swingset---it's way bigger than somehow we had envisioned. It is very tall too---in our area, we actually had to apply to our HOA for a permit in order to put it in our backyard. If your area has a HOA, you may want to look into that... 4) We replaced the trapeze bar with a baby swing that we bought here on Amazon, and it fit nicely. 5) We placed the swingset on "kiddie mulch"---it's a soft mulch often used in playgrounds. It seems very stable in that kiddie mulch without any anchors (as we had read it doesn't require any) with my wife and 10 year old son swinging on it. We are planning to purchase some anchors though off of Amazon anyway. ... show more

  • Best swingset for the money
Color: Earthtone
This swingset does not have all the bells and whistles (slides, monkey bars, cubby) that other models have. I've had those sets and because my family and I have had to move a few times, I keep having to buy (and assemble) new swingsets. With our previous sets, my kids have always gravitated to the swings over anything else. So, I went with just a "swing" set this go around. I'm glad I did. This is a great set. Easy to assemble, I did most assembly solo, took maybe 3 hours. Very sturdy. Powder coated for rust prevention. No cement needed but ground must be level. Will wobble slightly if adults go hard on the swings, kids no movement. Best part, kids can swing high with the 10 foot clearance. Swings are sturdy and heavy duty. Great all around set for the money. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Don't be afraid of putting this together!
Color: Earthtone
High quality swing set that should last many years and will be worth the investment now. I was apprehensive about the assembly process and had read through the reviews that made it seem like it was too difficult or quite easy. I read the instructions and watched the manufacturer video on YouTube before starting. While it was challenging, I was able to finish within about 5 hours. It would have been easier with a helper throughout, but it can be done alone. Setting it upright after assembly is where you should use a second person, but with help it is very manageable. A flat set-up area makes everything easier, and there is even an app available that walks you through each step. Bottom line: a great activity for the kids that is worth the sometimes frustrating assembly. The set is stable without anchors. Enjoy with a celebratory beverage! ... show more
