Wonderful choice for a larger ADHD child! We had some dead branches removed from our old elm. While the company's climbing 'monkey' was up there, I asked him to pick a safe branch, clear it, and hang this swing. He did. Amazing! It's at least 30 ft up (we bought more cord, he approved it.) He arranged the cords in a different way than I've ever seen...the sides are like an H and in the middle is an X. She swings very high yet can't hit the tree even if she wanted to. She can swing sitting down, rock standing up, spin like a top and swing in wide circles. With the trampoline we got her, the pool at the Y, and the young border collie with a frisbee, she (and us) is quite happy. ... show more

This is a well-made, sturdy piece of equipment for the older kids swingset. They really enjoy it! The four year-old needed a little bit of instruction on how to use it, but is a pro at it now! Lots of fun. Holding up well in New England weather.

I got this for my nephew who comes to visit Uncle John more often since I got it... It is his favorite toy / activity... It is great exercise... I couldn't walk for a week after I first got it... so START SLOW... I was 225 lbs when I got it which is 25 pounds over their limit so I reinforced the bottom and not even a hint of trouble as it is very well made... and I have already lost 6 pounds... not all from this swurfer... I installed it on a 30 foot high limb about 10 feet from the trunk of the tree and my favorite thing to do is to see how few swings it takes me before I can hit the tree with the swurfer... We are bummed, but we need to return this version. We previously have the wooden swarfer which we loved, but the weather wore out the base so we needed to replace it. Thinking that the plastic base would last longer, we purchased it. They're aren't any differences in the height according to the package, but this swings ropes were several feet shorter - too short for this only spot we have to hang a swing. This is an awesome swing, just make sure it's actually going to be long enough. ... show more

I purchased this for my eight-year-old granddaughter, but the five-year-old granddaughter loves it also. Then the three-year-old granddaughter tried on it. So nanny had to take her turn, and loved it. When the grandchildren leave nanny‘s house, nanny is still swinging.

    • Durable and fun way to change up swings

This is my second "surfboard" swing, the first was made of laminated plywood, and held up only 2.5 seasons due to rotten wood outside even when brought inside for winter. I'm very happy so far and hopeful for longevity with this deck from Swurfer as the plastic coupled with rubber seems to provide edge protection and great grip. Installation was very straightforward and the ability to change height from below (as opposed to fixed lengths that require redoing anchors) is appreciated! Handle heights easily adjust for kids of different heights. If i had any gripe, I'd like to see it a little bit longer to accommodate older/taller riders a bit better, but it is still a great swing for kids! ... show more

I was worried about whether this would work on a swing set based on some reviews, but we are happy with it! A few notes about set up: our swing set has monkey bars that the swings hang from. We looped the hanging ropes around the beams that the monkey bars are between, so this sits perpendicular to how a regular swing would hang (no hanging hardware needed). Our swing set has hook positions for four swings, we moved two to the outer positions and centered the swurfer between the two inner positions (hanging by the beams gives more adjustability freedom too). Although it would be possible for a kid to run into the other swings (and really, other kids on swings), I don't think the collision risk is any higher than how normal swings are spaced across a swing set. My daughter likes to twist it and really go as far out as she can and has yet to have any collisions or entanglements with the other swing and bars. For sizing, the picture is of a 4'7" 10 year old girl (just under 50% on the growth chart). Her 13 year old 5'4" sister can also fit on it, but is getting near the top of what the swing set can accommodate. Although I haven't tested it on a range of kids, I suspect most kids younger than about 6 might struggle with the gross motor control needed to really use it how it's designed. We've had it up for two months of Colorado summer (intense sun), so far there's no noticeable fading and seems sturdy. Overall I think it's a great quality for the price. Although I'm sure this would be a whole different level of fun hanging high up from a huge tree, we are very happy with it on our old swing set and thought it was a great purchase. ... show more
