Accurately described. Holds seat bottoms, pillows, and towels with room to spare. I haven't tested through wind and rain but seems likely to be weatherproof. This review focusses on assembly, which is easy to do but badly described. Hey Lifetime, why not correct the instructions once and help out all your future customers? The instructions sheet has tiny, borderline useless, figures. Also they call for equipment which was unnecessary. I dutifully hauled my drill and mallet from the basement, only to return them there unused. All the screws and bolts can be hand-tightened, which I think is safer when constructing plastic gear. Also, the entire process can be done by one person if you can support the open lid against a wall when attaching it to the base. Assembly was actually easy once I figured out when I could safely deviate from the instructions. ... show more

I like the size and durability for a parcel drop-box. I found it is hard to open in freezing weather, and high winds move it around on the deck. First, I screwed it to the deck with four 1/4 inch lag screws and LARGE fender washers -- just snug. Too tight will squeeze the bottom plastic. To facilitate easy opening in the cold, I mounted a large grab handle on the top, about 2 inches from the leading edge. A two-hole mount, like one used on garage doors works well. Be sure to use large fender washers under the handle, and on the inside, along with lock washers and "ny-lock" nuts. Do not over tighten! If the box is balky to open, delivery drivers won't use it. I also chained the padlock down to keep it from "walking away" -- it has to be left open during idle time. ... show more

So, the headline says it all. My fiancé put this thing together and said a few choice words in the process. Please note, he built an entire log cabin home from the ground up and is no stranger to putting things together. Once the assembly was all done, we both agreed it was good quality and probably just what we need. Appears so far to be weather proof (hard rain recently and dry inside). Although we have not had anyone sit on it yet, it does look sturdy enough. The top of it did come with a kind of annoying flaw about 3" square to the right of center. It doesn't affect how it works, so I just decided to deal with it since this is an outside deck box and will probably have a nice splat of bird poop on it anyway! ... show more

    • Welcome to assembly hell!

So, you have decided to take some time off work and you have mastered the skill of patience and you bought this Rubik's Cube of a container. Game on! You gather your tools and you are prepared.......but nothing will prepare you for this assembly nightmare. Keep in mind that slot A will never slide into Slot B, no matter where you are in the instructions. You will find yourself pounding, hammering, praying and cussing these pieces to assemble like the instructions tell you but it will take sheer will power to make them go together and stay together. Now that you have finally gotten everything to slide into place and you have taken a drive around the neighborhood to calm your nerves you go back to work. Once again you try to figure out what black magic will make part A slide and align with part B until you summon more of that will power and get it to line up as you grab the first screw. Doesn't fit, you find yourself not that surprised after this mornings escapades and instruction manual fiction. You then read that the screws you are about to force through the metal are intentionally meant to be larger than the hole. You come to the realization that the battery operated drill you use will simply not do the trick, time to get the electric drill. After finding the right tip for your drill, you say a small prayer and begin to put the screws in, yep, the instructions are right, the screws are larger than the holes you are trying to get them through. So, after a few hours with your power drill plugged into the flux capacitor, for pure power, you get the screws in. Time for another drive around the neighborhood. Daylight is ahead, all you have to do is get the final pieces together....wait, really? The area is so tight that you can only get a quarter turn with your wrench, this is going to take the rest of the day to finsih....you laugh.....hysterically, but you decide to invest the time to get those final four bolts in. You can't give up now! You are finally done, the storage box that you so thought you needed is now complete. You pack up your tools, say goodbye to the sun because the day is over and head inside.....find the keys, take another drive. First around the neighborhood AGAIN and then to the gas station to fill the tank back up because you are sitting on empty. You never realized that your nerves required that much gas. Would I buy this again? NOPE! The last box we had that lasted for years took me a whopping ten minutes to put together and folks, it's a box, it should not be that complicated. Unless you have the patience of a saint, I would move on to your next option. PS - on the tools list of the instructions, they forgot to mention the band-aids, you will be needing those as well. Drove the screwdriver into my thumb trying to force those easy to assemble screws in. ... show more
