  • He had a different kind of filter and he was fine, but I got sicker than a dog

A friend and I drank from the same well. He had a different kind of filter and he was fine, but I got sicker than a dog.

  • Beware of Leaks
Style: 22oz Color: Blue/Purple (2-Pack)
Bought this two pack for my wife and I before going to travel internationally; however, we assumed that the bottle was air tight like a normal water bottle, that was not the case. Multiple times and after multiple attempts of trouble shooting the both bottles leaked from the sides and/tops. The first time around soaking everything in my pack which killed my portable charger, some trinkets, and my passport. The bottles look cool and I hope the water filters worked properly but this was a very disappointing and in the end costly purchase. ... show more

  • Mine leaked, and LifeStraw company fixed my leak
Mine leaks when securely and properly closed. I am in South America and can't return or exchange it. I paid $44.95 and it's defective. Needless to say, I'm not too happy about this. Update: After discovering that mine leaked, I was in South America and could not reply, return or exchange my LifeStraw Go. The 30 day warranty expired and I was unable to return this to Amazon. I contacted LifeStraw directly and customer representative, Tiffany asked me to send some information and a few pictures. Within three days of my initial contact with LifeStraw, a new replacement was sent to address and stop my leak. I've updated my ratings as my filter bottle no longer leaks and I have experienced exceptional customer service from LifeStraw. ... show more

  • If you love the taste of summertime hosewater, you'll love this
Style: 22oz Color: Teal
I love the concept, I take it with me in case of emergencies. But I was hoping to use it at the hospital (I work in the ER) daily and I feel like the regular water fountain is gross, so I wanted to drink out of this daily. I get the resistance with how much you have to suck is more than a normal straw because of fluid dynamics, whatever. But the plastic taste I can't get over. I thought washing and letting it soak in water would help, but after a month of use it still tastes like youre a drinking hose water that has been sitting in the plastic tubing baking during the summer. 3 stars, 2 for practicality and 1 for nostalgia. ... show more

  • PERFECT
Style: 22oz Color: Wolf
This water bottle is amazing! I followed the instructions as listed and everything worked great! FYI when you're flushing the filter for the first time, flip it upside down so the water flows into it from the bottom. I did it from the top at first and couldn't figure out why water wasn't going into the actual filter. The instructions say at one point to fill the bottle with water and replace the filter & let sit for 10 minutes. I think this is the part that some people might be missing and that's why it's so hard to pull water from for the first few sips. I let mine sit for a while so the water could really get saturated into the filter and the first few sips were a breeze! I've never tasted water that literally taste like NOTHING! I mean all water should taste like that, but c'mon! Before I realized it, I'd drank half the bottle searching for a taste of some type, but nope!! It comes with a hook for convenient holding or attachment to your travel pack. I got this for my kiddo to take hiking that way we won't have to pack a ton of extra water bottles to weight down our backpack! ... show more

  • Broke on third use
Style: 22oz Color: Blue/Purple (2-Pack)
The media could not be loaded. Horrible customer service sent me to the product replacement page to purchase a new lid. Purchased for our trip to Europe. What a pain to have it break on our second day there. We couldn't even use it to hold water and pour switch lids with another bottle. The lid leaks when the straw is in closed position and doesn't seal when straw is in open position so no water flows through. A piece of lid under the filter is actually broken and they won't replace it. Horrible product and customer service for this high price point. ... show more

  • Lifestraws are great inventions, but can't make a leak-proof bottle.
Style: 22oz Color: Teal
This is the second lifestraw bottle I've had. I discarded the first one, because it leaked. And here we are. To start off, let me say the original Lifestraw is a cool invention and the Lifestraw Bottle is great in concept. I typically prefer to start off without the straw inside the (clean) bottle so I can take more fresh water from the get-go, and only switch to the Lifestraw attachment if needed (it's not the easiest to drink out of, like sucking on a slightly thick milkshake, but that's just the nature of the beast and is far simpler than other alternatives). Naturally, it would be nice to just use it as a water bottle when you wanted to. Yet, after getting rid of the first one due to leaks, this second one does the same thing (I think near the hinge of the stem). Sometimes you can reposition the stem and it'll stop, but it's never trustworthy enough to set your pack down sideways without it leaking all over your bag. Maybe it relies on the Lifestraw being attached all of the time, since water doesn't easily flow through the filter without suction, but I feel like this is a fundamental flaw to a water bottle, especially for the price. There are other bottle-attachment filters out there, and for the money they'd be much more reliable than this. ... show more

  • Went all in with this brand...also leaks.
Style: 22oz Color: Blue/Purple (2-Pack)
We decided to purchase this brand and bought 4...so everyone could have a water bottle for filtering tap water etc... We wish we had gone with another brand because it's nearly impossible to find the actual filters for the "go" model. We nearly ordered the wrong ones and realized they look different. When we finally found the filters they are $29.00 or more! The other problem is they don't sell the bite valve. I have jumped through hoops to try and find a replacement...since these silicone bite valves wear out or get stained before the bottle. One valve got some mold or fungus inside...weird. I tried to clean it well but it seems stained. If you want a new silicone valve you have to purchase another entire bottle...at around $35.00 or more. How is this good ecology to throw out perfectly good water bottles, into our landfills, when the company could sell the small valves for around $5.00? We're switching brands due to the foolishness of this company to create a water bottle that you can't purchase replacement parts for. I wish we could promote this but we've been forced to move on to something else. It also leaks...at least 2 of them do. It makes us wonder how pure the filtration system really is. ... show more
