This fan timer and light motion sensor combo switch is UL listed and appears to be well made of quality materials. The instruction booklet is well-written in clear, error-free English. The product instructions state that it only operates properly with both a lighting (red wire) and fan (brown wire) load. In my usage there is no fan so I only connected the light and I terminated the brown wire unused in one of the supplied wire nuts. My light works properly with the motion sensor switch despite the lack of a fan load. My single load situation doesn't seem that unusual - if a light bulb were to burn out or a fan motor suffer a broken wire then even a fully connected switch with two loads would now only have a single load. I did connect the green ground wire as directed and that should only be required because the switch has metal mounting flanges that must be bonded to a ground. Current does not normally flow through the ground wire because I have my LIDER switch powered by the load side of a pass- through GFCI receptacle and the GFCI does not trip. ... show more
