I recently installed this switch in the restroom I share with others, and it’s been a great addition. The installation was easy, and the switch works perfectly with our ceiling fan. Living in a colder area where windows stay closed almost all the time, this switch is excellent for keeping the air fresh. I no longer have to worry about turning on the exhaust fan. The description for this product is not clear. It is a PIR switch for a light only, with an additional manual switch with timer for a fan. The light can also be manually turned on, and the fan can be set to constantly turn on for a predefined time every hour. I was looking for a PIR controller fan switch.

This fan timer and light motion sensor combo switch is UL listed and appears to be well made of quality materials. The instruction booklet is well-written in clear, error-free English. The product instructions state that it only operates properly with both a lighting (red wire) and fan (brown wire) load. In my usage there is no fan so I only connected the light and I terminated the brown wire unused in one of the supplied wire nuts. My light works properly with the motion sensor switch despite the lack of a fan load. My single load situation doesn't seem that unusual - if a light bulb were to burn out or a fan motor suffer a broken wire then even a fully connected switch with two loads would now only have a single load. I did connect the green ground wire as directed and that should only be required because the switch has metal mounting flanges that must be bonded to a ground. Current does not normally flow through the ground wire because I have my LIDER switch powered by the load side of a pass- through GFCI receptacle and the GFCI does not trip.

I swapped in this switch to automatically turn a bathroom light on, and insure that it self-shuts off after a predetermined interval- and to also be able to turn on the bathroom vent fan for a predetermined amount of time after which it will automatically shut off. It does all of these things. The switch requires a decora wall plate, whereas the original switches and a third one in the wall box were conventional thin switches (thus 3 of them). To use this, I changed the 3rd switch to a decora style one-way on/off switch, added a new 3-gamg decore wall plate,, and used a blank plate to cover .the now unused 3rd opening. The usability of the manual on/off buttons for the fan and light leave something to be desired. They are relatively small , identical, unlabeled, and situated along the bottom of the switch below the relatively large protruding presence sensor window. The fan on/off is to the left (bottom) of the light on/off such that it is relatively difficult to identify and/or press the desired switch (fan or light).

I have other Lider products and they are all seriously good quality and just work well so I ordered this for a laundry/utility room to kick the lights on when my hands are full and keep the room ventilated. The only gotcha with this is you MUST have all the correct wires or nothing will work, this means 2 load wires, wire to your light, wire to your fan, and ground. If you think it will just work as PIR light only, no. Once installed everything works fantastic, and this is easy to program/adjust and I look forward to years of reliability.
