I am not an expert on fine chisels. I bought these to aid in installing locksets in doors and door frames. So far they work well Very light use so far. so I have not needed to sharpen anything. And I have not tried to use on as a pry bar, so I don't know how hard the steel may be. They work well on soft wood. The leather case is rather pointless, it is not wide enough to roll up and nothings to fold over the handles, so the chisels can slide out easily.

I purchased the Fu Feng set before this and sent them back because those were junk. The blades werent inline with the handles and one of the edges was chipped right out of the package. These Libration chisels are very good quality compared to the Fu Feng brand. The edges were sharp and not chipped. Blades are square to the handles and they feel great in your hand. I honed mine as soon as I got them as I do with any lower brand chisels to freshen up the factory edge as there will be a little bit of curl on the cutting edge due to the mass production. These are great for the money.

Pro: No complaints about the steel quality so far. The edge preparation exceeds most manufacturers. Of course it requires honing. Any steel edge tool will. If you don't want to have to sharpen a chisel, don't buy a chisel. The important thing is that these hold their edge well in hard wood, as good as any pro chisel that is sold for much more. Con: the flimsy steel ring at the butt end does not appear robust enough to stand up to repeated mallet strikes. The manufacturer needs to upgrade this component if it plans to be competitive. I will likely have to make this upgrade myself in the near future.
