High quality! Obviously easy installation! Love the plastic so you do not end up scraping the paint when in use, as this will do the heavy duty, (pulling someone or yourself out of the ditch & mud!), but definitely adds character to your application as well! If you need a shackle hitch receiver, stop what you're doing, stop scrolling for anything more, just choose this and proceed to check. The thing is made of solid steel. The hook is welded onto the reciever. You can probably pull a tank. The red is kool, gives it some accent. If you dont like the red strip you can take it off. Very happy with this. Had the 'opportunity' to put this thing to use just a couple days after ordering it. When recovering a vehicle there is enough to worry about besides whether your tow strap stayed attached to the recovery vehicle. This thing makes that a matter of preparation and you can put it out of your mind. The only thing I'm not really sold on is the red plastic jobby which did not really stay in place on this or the d links I bought from the same company. But they also seem completely unnecessary so I'm not overly concerned about it. The threads on the shackle just like on liberrway's d links are forgiving of getting dirt and snow on them and catch and thread in easily which is important in tough situations when you don't want to be dealing with finnicky threads. It did come with some rubber washers or something which were lost in the snow the first time it was used but didn't seem to matter not being there. If you strip this thing down to its metal components it's completely functional, easy to use even if wearing heavy gloves in the cold and lets you put one variable out of your mind during a recovery ... show more

This hitch is just as it appears, shiny black/red, and quite heavy, so expect it will perform to the specifications stated. The plastic cusp on the shackle itself seems to be well-adhered, do not think it would fall-off easily, nor the pin for the shackle, although over time, since it is threaded, could back out, as I have read in some reviews has happened. I intend to put the hitch on only when I need to use it, which is seldom, therefore no worry as to loss . The other thing you could do was just leave the post part of the hitch itself on, removing the shackle itself to prevent loss. Of course, you would have to get a locking hitch pin to prevent theft, as it does not come with one. It seems a really good value for the cost, considering the high weight capacity, compared to the others here, plus there is the "never rust" dynamic, if it is actually true. I would recommend it, at this point, but the "proof of the pudding" will be when I actually use it for the first time. ... show more

Bought this in addition to 4 heavy shackles and 2 towing straps and a 30' rescue strap. I have a 18 JGC Limited with a towing package and the hitch fits nice a snug in there, the pin fits nice and tight, made from very heavy gage steel, surprised by the weight of it, its not a toy, it will take a beating. I don't go off road or trails, but I do go in some nasty blizzards and rain storms. I see trucks sliding off the road all the time. Always be prepared for the unexpected. made a tool box just for the straps, hitch, shackles and some tools. Be careful out there!!! ... show more

This is a very useful hitch attachment. I bought this to make it easier for hooking up tow straps for dragging things around on my property. It held up just fine during a weekend of hauling felled trees out of the woods. The included shackle made it super easy to connect and disconnect the tow strap as needed. Not sure how much force was put on it, but it handled dragging 60 foot long tree trunks that were 24" in diameter across uneven ground just fine. I also like the way it came packaged so much that I plan on storing the set in that box...will make sure everything stays together and rattle free while in the cab. Will see how well it stays rust free...it got scratched up from use (which is expected). Definitely a great option if you need a quick way to attach tow straps to your rig...much more reasonably priced than local stores too. ... show more

I use it with my Chevy Tahoe and a nylon snatch-em strap. I don't snatch with it but I do tow with this. Chevy doesn't put tow hooks on the back so you really need something like this to make towing easier and safer. Don't drop it on your foot, it is solid, that means nothing about this is hollow or light. ... show more
