UPDATE 24 hours later. Added a star! Yesterday evening I moved the tablecloth from the laundry room to a drying rack in a bathroom. Today, the smell is barely detectable and creases are almost totally gone. I've put the tablecloth on the table to protect the wood from the afternoon sun and it looks and smells great. SUCCESS! I'll open the other package tomorrow and get it ready for the table where some of my plants live. I think I'll just wander over to the product page and see if there are any other patterns or colors that I just can't resist. ;) ORIGINAL, 03-16-24. I ordered two, and they arrived yesterday, which was sooner than expected. They were nicely packaged and clean, although one arrived in a paper shipping bag and the other was just like you would find it on a store shelf but with a label on the clear packaging. I opened one and really liked how it looks. It is not a $100 product, so don’t expect miracles, but it is exactly what I expected and in perfect condition. It does have creases from being folded, but I think they will flatten out with use and time. I put it on the table and am happy with it with one exception. It did not slide around, it seems sturdy enough for my needs, and it will protect the table from ordinary, light use. The exception was the *very* strong chemical smell. It reminds me of a glue I once used that required mixing two chemicals. It is a familiar smell, but not one I’ve run into frequently. I opened the patio door despite the weather. At the end of the day, the smell was less, but I still put the tablecloth in the laundry room and shut the door. I haven’t yet checked it this morning. I will use this one as the test model. Whether or not I keep the unopened tablecloth depends on how well the smell of this one goes away. I really think it will, but I also think there should be a warning in the product description. No kidding - it was overpowering for a few hours but hopefully temporary. There is no label on the underside about washing, but the web site product description says it is not machine washable, so the only hope is that the smell dissipates on its own.

This is a nice plastic tablecloth that has a felt-like liner on the underneath side. Our 2 yr old wooden table is already showing signs of use, so I decided to cover it to protect it from further wear. From a distance, it doesn't look plastic. It was hard to find a square tablecloth for the size I needed and I'm very happy with this one. My table is 48" x 48" and I purchased the 60" x 60", which is a perfect fit and I have about 6" for overhang on each side. I popped it in the dryer for a few minutes to get most of the wrinkles out, which worked okay, but it still has some wrinkles. I had my lazy-susan sitting for 2 days on the table and it left a ring in the plastic...but plastic often does that. It's a little on the thin side but I think it is sufficient to protect the table. It didn't come with any weird smell. The price point is a little higher than what is on the market in general, but finding this size in a decent pattern and color that works with my kitchen decor has been a challenge, so I was willing to pay a bit more. If I was using it outside on a patio table and I didn't care about aesthetics, I probably would say it is a bit over-priced. As for the durability, time will tell, since I've only had it a few days. The gray stripe looks nice with my Pioneer Woman curtains which have a grey checkered background. It did have quite a few loose strings, which I had to snip off, so I'm hoping the hem doesn't unravel. Because it matches my kitchen decor, I can live with a few of the quirks mentioned in this review and overall, I'm quite pleased with this purchase.

I order this pattern and others from this brand when I finally wear one out or it gets torn somewhere. They are very sturdy though and hold up for a long time. I use this on the table we used daily, not just for eating but for other activities, reading, computer, watching tv, etc, in other words this table cloth gets a lot of use and I can easily clean it without removing it. I like to alternate the patterns but the lemon is a favorite.
