This is a really nice backpack and it's made really well. It's got just the right amount of pockets and it's big enough for it to fit everything I need. The thickness of the bag is great because it's not to thin so it helps things like rain stay out but at the same time it's not to bulky. I have 2 of these packs now. 1 is white camo and the other is O.D. The white camo has been on many adventures out in nature with me. It is holding up great. It's very comfortable and so many different compartments for your gear. Great organization! I highly recommend these packs to the novice hiker. I would think it would hold up good for the serious hiker as well, but I can only verify for myself( average hike is 10 miles at a shot). But this pack has been on many hikes and doing great!I keep it in the back of my SUV all summer with a hiking stick so when the mood hits me, I got my gear ready. Got the O.D. recently because I just got a Jeep as well, and gotta be prepared. I have utmost faith this pack will hold up as well as the first. LHI makes a good product! ... show more

I ordered this backpack for my son who is in middle school. We both love it for a variety of reasons. It is great how many compartments and pockets there are to utilize. The zippers are easy to grab and slide very easily. The reason we had to replace the last backpack provided by a different seller is that the zippers went off its track and the backpack could no longer close or open properly. Another cool feature is the area for patches. I too have a military backpack and I can only fit a couple patches, but the backpack we got can fit 4 so far. The pattern is also stylish and we like that it's a military-style backpack without having to settle for pea green. We look forward to returning for any future backpack needs. ... show more
