  • THIS WASHER DOES NOT THOROUGHLY CLEAN CLOTHES!
I’ve had this machine for over a week now and have run 4 loads. Each time the tub did NOT fill with enough water to adequately cover the laundry in the tub. Even the “Deep Wash” doesn’t add enough water to do the job. The bottom impeller causes the water in the tub, what little there is, to move back and forth and the laundry does the same. But the laundry doesn’t turn over as it does in a regular washer so they don’t get a thorough cleaning. If not for osmosis, the top layer of clothing would stay dry until the rinse cycle; again, even using the Deep Wash setting. I’ve watched a pair of jeans going through the wash cycle and part of the pants never even got submerged into the washing action below. My clothes, bedsheets, towels, etc are not getting as clean as they did with my old machine. It’s a ridiculous design - one that saves water at the expense of doing its job of washing clothes. Consumer Reports gave a model very similar to the WT7300C with a score of 84 - the highest of its class. WTH!? I am very upset with this purchase and regret following the recommendation of CR. Please read the other negative reviews of this washer because they are complaining about the same problem. Edit: There's a work-around solution to the problem I stated above. I've been adding about a quart of water with the dirty laundry and selecting the 'Water Plus' feature. The additional weight of the H₂O along with the Water Plus feature puts enough water in the tub to adequately wash the load of laundry. ... show more

  • Download feature isn't worth "diddly poo"
We like to add the Soak cycle to the washer cycles to enhance cleaning results. We can certainly do that using the control panel on the washer. But none of your predefined cycles have that feature enabled. I worked for years building hardware and software for several big name companies, so I appreciate how much work LG has put into provide WiFi connectivity through the ThinQ app. It is just a shame that it falls short of its potential since they do not allow the customer to create their own cycles. My LG dryer allows me to push a button and save my dryer settings for reuse. LG has gone to all the trouble to add WiFi and an app and they don’t even allow the customer to create and save their own cycle definition or allow us to modify one of your pre-defined cycles. In my mind, this makes the download capability near useless. It is truly a shame. ... show more

  • Limited Alexa and Google support
Brand new LG WT7300CW Washer. All the advertisements say that it works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. You have to install the LG ThinQ app on your phone and then link Alexa and Google Home. Siri or the Apple Home app does not support washers at this time apparently. The LG ThinQ app can send a notification to your phone when the washer is finished. Neither Alexa or Google Home can notify us when the washer is finished. At least Google Home can tell me how much time is left on the washer. But Alexa can only tell me if the washer is on or off. LG built a terrible skill for Alexa. They need to hire a good programming team and fix it. Here are Alexa commands that work and don't work. Me: "Alexa, is the washer running?" Alexa: "The top load washer is on." Me: "Alexa, what's the status of the washer?" Alexa: "That's not supported yet." Me: "Alexa, how much time is left on the washer?" Alexa: "That's not supported yet." Me: "Alexa, is the washer finished?" Alexa: "That's not supported yet." Me: "Alexa, ask LG for the status of the washer." Alexa: "Sorry, I didn't find a group or device named L G Washer" Me: "Alexa, ask LG how much time is left on the washer." Alexa: "That's not supported yet." Me: "Alexa, what mode is the washer in?" Alexa: "Top load washer doesn't support that." Google Home commands that work and don't work: Me: "Hey Google, what's the status of the washer?" Google: "The top load washer is on washing cycle and will be done in 53 minutes." Me: "Hey Google, how much time is left on the washer?" Google: "The top load washer will be done in 47 minutes." Me: "Hey Google, tell me when the washer is finished." Google: "In Greek, that's: εμένα όταν σταματήσει το πλυντήριο." Me: "Hey Google, tell me when the washer is off." Google: "Got it, stopping the Top Load Washer." (Oops! Now I need to restart it!) ... show more

  • good washer-terrible manual
Just got this washer, installed it (which was easy) and it's doing a nice job of cleaning our clothes. My issues are with the manual and connectivity. After a live chat with an actual person, they sent me a link to connect with a tech. I emailed my issues and they responded the next day. Why in the world they don't tell you in the manual that the washer's wifi password is the last 4 numbers/letters that show up for the washer in the wifi settings repeated twice, and not your router's password, is beyond me. Anyway, I got it connected and it sends a notification when your load is done and that's useful. You use a qr code reader to dl a more detailed manual that walks you through the many cycles and many features of the machine. Kind of a pain, but it saves paper so I get it. It's not your parents' washer. Others have complained about the lack of water in the cycles but the manual does tell you how you can increase the amount of water in the cycle as well as controlling water temp, spin rate, etc. There is a learning curve but I feel like most new appliances these days are in the same category. Just clean my clothes and I'll be happy. ... show more
