  • 1st Month Review
Style: Intel Iris Xe
I've been using this laptop for only lightweight stuff (the occasional YouTube, Microsoft Office apps, no games or editing, etc.), and the laptop is running great. This might change in the future though, so I'll keep this review open. Battery life is awesome, for now! Things I'm worried about for now: laptop losing battery life if I forget to unplug the charger. This is how I've messed up all my past laptops and chargers, so I'm wary I might one day ruin this laptop the same. It's been good for now though. Minor things that bother me: the touchpad. Honestly, the way I type and where the touchpad is located, my right palm often encroaches upon the touchpad and it messes with the pointer. This is just minor though. Another thing about the touchpad, sometimes tapping (not clicking) on it to put the pointer where I want it doesn't work. I don't know if I'm pressing the touchpad at the wrong place or whatnot, but it happens. Again, this is just minor inconvenience but overall still a good laptop. PROS: I like the numpad. It's great. The screen is also wider than most laptops, and it's lightweight, too? I definitely bought this laptop just for those reasons! There's an option to light up the keyboard, which is great. The power button is also flat, so there's minimal chance for me to accidentally press it. And the GB! So great to see such free space compared to my old laptop! ... show more

  • Great, but having some issues
Style: Intel Iris Xe
This laptop is fantastic in so many ways -- the keyboard is very pleasant to use, thanks to its 1.65 mm travel, so much better than the Dell XPS, in my opinion, which is just too short at 1.3 mm. I love the matte finish to the screen, and it's got great color. I was worried that the resolution would be too low for a 17" screen, but text is super sharp--I can't tell the difference between this and a 4K screen. And the laptop is really quiet and battery life is great. And the weight -- it's so amazing! It's so much lighter than the XPS, whose discreet graphics I don't need, and it's just so much easier to live with. I'm just having this horrible problem with the trackpad -- when I type a bit and then try to tap on the trackpad to insert a cursor or double tap to select something, it often just won't register my inputs. I tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, and the thing just ignores me. Either I wait a few seconds and it starts to register my taps again, or else I try tapping in a different area of the touchpad, which pretty consistently gets it to function normally again, or I just give up and use the physical trackpad button. It's massively frustrating, seems to happen a good 30-50% of the time I go to tap, enough so that I have to return this laptop. I use Word a lot, so that's where i notice this issue the most, but it might be happening in other programs, too. I don't know if this is a driver issue for the trackpad, but I haven't seen it mentioned in any professional reviews so far, so I'm skeptical. Maybe a corrupted driver? I might try to reinstall it and see if it fixes the issue, but otherwise I'll have to exchange the unit -- I really hope the replacement unit doesn't have this issue, because it's such a great laptop for me in so many ways. My only other complaint about it is that the processor feels a little pokey sometimes in terms of responsiveness. Maybe they should have gone with an AMD processor, which could have kept the laptop cool but offered more performance. But I'd live with the slight pokiness if the trackpad issues would just get fixed. ... show more

  • Love look and easy to use
Style: Intel Iris Xe
After going through 3 laptops my suggested this laptop. I saved hundreds of dollars getting it in black versus another color. So far I've had no problems with it. I like the way it looks and it is so light weight.

  • Best portable productivity laptop
Style: Intel Iris Xe
I bought the original LG Gram 17 back in 2019 and loved it. I didn't really need the upgrade as the old one was still great, but I like to upgrade and sell my old laptops/phones while they still have value. I hate working on small screens when I travel or work out of my office. Nothing else really comes close to the Gram 17 as most 17" laptops are gaming monstrosities with 16:9 screens. This is still the best portable laptop for productivity by far in my mind. - Beautiful 16:10 17 inch screen at a sane resolution - Plenty fast enough for what I do - Super light I had a lot of problems with the wifi when I first set it up and I'm not sure if that was a Windows 11 or network adapter issue. Luckily I had a USB wifi dongle handy and after some driver updates and troubleshooting it's solid now. Battery life could always be better but it's decent for such a large screen. I wish laptop manufacturers would stop the lies with "12.5 hours of nonstop power and get up to 19.5 hours of video playback". Lol, who are you trying to kid? I get about 6hrs at 50% brightness mostly working within chrome including google sheets (which is admittedly a drain). I can't speak to the keyboard and trackpad as I'm always using it with a roost laptop stand and BT keyboard and mouse. I'm waiting for the day someone makes just a big portable (perhaps foldable) screen with an inbuilt stand so I can sit it at eye level and use an external mouse and kb. Until then I'll be using an LG Gram 17. ... show more

  • I like it. Not the fastest, but good for general users.
Style: Intel Iris Xe
I like it because it is overall very light. the only thing that is a bit iffy is the bitlocker. I still need to understand how to effectively use it. It is a bit quirky. the keyboards do light up so I can look at the keyboard in low ambient lights.
