    • Laptop suddenly and completely dead after less than two years of use

Unfortunately I can't give this product a 0 or less stars. I bought this laptop in 2023, and it suddenty died a few weeks ago while I was doing my work. Two weeks prior to that, one of the USB-C charging port had stopped working (first it stopped charging the computer, and then it completely stopped working). Since bitlocker was turned ON, now I have to figure out how to get the drives decrypted without the computer and get my files. This is a hardware problem with LG laptop where its charging of battery dies completely, mine is not the only case. However, if you look up on the internet, not many out there who know what the reason is for such failure, and all LG webpages keep telling you to unplug/plug the connector, make sure power is tuned on/etc nonsense. I'm an electrical engineer who has designed embedded systems, I know when the processor is not getting any voltage despite the USB-C connecter showing on a volt-meter that its getting the voltage from the adapter. (by the way, if you also buy an LG monitor, you can't charge this computer through LG monitor's USB-C, because the monitor only provides up to 60 watts whereas this computer MUST have at least 65 watts - in other words, one LG product won't work with another related LG product.) I'd never buy any LG product again, even their support is horrendous - I had a similar issue of a bad battery in a couple of weeks of buying this laptop and they wanted me to send the whole laptop to them at my own expense and they needed a few months to fix the problem! I had Amazon involved who replaced the laptop due to Amazon's 30 days return policy. Good luck if you ever buy any LG product. ... show more

The computer has very beneficial features like the touch screen, stylus, light machine. The set-up was a bit difficult and I am still unable to use Word for documents. This is an essential feature for me. I will need a computer expert to fix this problem so that I can use it like I need to do.

I purchased this at a decent discount right before Black Friday. With 2 TB of SSD and 12th Gen Core I7, It Flys for what I use it for, great battery.life. Good display, bit not really for use in bright sunlight. Not a gamer, has no discrete Graphics, I don't play any computer games never have. Is lightest offering, with 16" 16 x 10 format It does the busi.ess functions and is fine for light programming. Pairs nicely with Matching LG portable monitor, when traveling everything I need to turn my suite into an office. This year's 2023 version will have Gen 13 Intel and brighter Samsung display. I bought this because Consumer Reports rated it in the top 3. I'm pretty particular about laptops. I haven't had one I liked in 20 years but I like this one. I love the way it flips open. I keep it on my desk flipped backward and am using a separate keyboard connected via bluetooth. I've had no problems with this computer. No freezing up. No slowing down. No errors. I like that this laptop is a touch screen but it stops there. The drawing pen is terrible! It requires a nonrecharable battery to operate and it drains the battery faster than a kids toy that was left on. There is no palm rejection when drawing so if you don't hover over the thing or wear a specific drawing glove you will have a very unpleasant time drawing with this device. Not to mention that the fan is so poor that after 30 or so minutes of drawing the computer is so hot it feels like it's going to melt into your lap or what ever it is sitting on. Oh also this computer tells you when you the user are allowed to use it. If you let it sit and it powers off the next time you go to use it should you need to plug it in because the computer itself also has one of the shortest battery lives I have ever experienced. The computer will give you a pop window when you try to log in that says blah blah blah you must keep the computer plugged in and turned on for two hours before you are allowed to sign in! I have an old LG Gram for 5 years and bought this 2022 touch model, and I'm very disappointed with its performance. The touchscreen is very nice, and the weight is OK (I think the non-touch version is lighter). Unfortunately, it easily overheats even on standard tasks like browsing. The fan is loud, and the laptop gets so hot its uncomfortable to hold. I'm trying to rerun it and look for another model. ... show more
