I purchased the 12,000 unit a month ago and it was loud and not cooling our large bedroom enough, so I returned it for this unit. I originally purchased the first one at Bbuy, which only has a 15 day return policy. I decided to get the new unit on Amazon due to the 30 day return....And the Assurion insurance was cheaper, and had more benefits (labor included). This unit is so much more quiet and I can already tell that the room is getting cooler much faster. Now keep in mind that it's only been installed for a few hours. I'll update if my feelings change. By far this is the best unit I purchased. My central unit went out & I didn't want to get another one. Look at other window units and decided on this one. My son n law installed it for me and I got home about 30 minutes later and had to asked if it was on, that is how quite it was. I only need it to cool the front part of my house which is about 670 sq ft and it does the job. Having it wifi to where I can control the temperature before I get home is a bonus. I purchased a portable unit for the bedrooms but this cools off my kitchen, dining area, family room and the hallway. This one is worth my money spent. ... show more

Unless you are prepared to disassemble the unit and then reassemble it do not buy it!! Poorly designed. Track for extension fins did not slide well and lower track guide needs to be installed and is plastic and per the instructions “be careful because the plastic guide breaks easily “!!…really?? Better design with a steel track would improve the design tremendously. Any review that says it was easy to install is totally misleading. The unit needs to be disassembled in order to install track guides. Then the hollow unit is mounted into window opening and then the internal portion is inserted. It’s ridiculous!!
