I got this just to be safe while on the road for my half-day trips. the package is tiny, light, and strong. I even had to use them once last summer, my first flat. Well designed patch kit. I cant speak to the effectiveness of the patches as I haven't used them yet but the aluminum case is a nice feature for a seat bag. No rubber cement in the kit.

    • Excellent easy to use and reliable
Got those last summer, used a couple times on the road, never had to replace the tubes I patched with these, that means they seal very tight! Aluminum case is a bit thick and heavy for my taste, and price is somewhat steep for such a small set of patches.

Only has to use once thankfully but finsihed another 8 miles on a patch. convienent and durable packaging makes it an easy biking companion.

I had trusted this patch kit to patch some holes for the long run. No go. the patches might hold on at first but depending on the composition of the rubber, only the tube is inflated, it is a matter of time that they slowly begin to loosen their grip. This can be seen in the sheen the glue film of the patch gives off as the tube is stretched. This sort of self gluing patches are for extreme emergency cases perhaps to get from down a couple of miles but they will inevitably fail. The most reliable patch kits are those with a chemical bonder that chemically reacts with the tube. Nothing else will hold. ... show more

I had cleaned the surface and roughened it as well. The patch did not stick well. I will try it again with more time available.
