  • Great for Hydroponic Gardening
Although there are a lot of oxygenators online, I went with this particular model because the solar panel looked more stable in the photographs that the seller provided. Also, the fact that I wasn’t required to stake the panel in the ground was a big selling point because the floor inside my greenhouse is solid and I wanted to use the dual air stones for my hydroponics system (using dual five gallon buckets). I was using the Kratky Method (i.e., no air bubbles) but instead decided to move into Deep Water Culture (DWC). The directions were adequate but when I looked for the mode indicator, I couldn’t find it. By chance I looked underneath the solar panel and that is where both the on/off switch and the mode changer is. There also aren’t any directions on splitting the air tubing, but a pair of scissors and a bit of common sense quickly got the job done. I set up this solar air pump the same day I got it (today) and it took only approximately fifteen minutes (or less) to do so. The company must have primed the solar panel before packaging it because I set up the oxygenator at 6:30 in the evening when it was already dusk and the air stones started pouring out air into my buckets. I’m **really** happy with this product. Although most people are using these for their ponds, if you’re looking for a good oxygenator for use in DWC, then this product is one you’re definitely going to want to consider. Because it’s in my greenhouse, I just set my panel on the ground at an angle but made sure to hang the pump (the little black box) on a nail to avoid any contact with water as it’s not waterproof. Overall I found this to be a really excellent product. ... show more

  • It has been working good on my 5000 gallon pond for 1 year
Working good for 1 year so far supplying extra oxygen to my 5000 gallon mud pond. The goldfish have not complained. I also have some small Koi and Rosie Reds in there. It would have been nice if they gave some additional tubing for extra length. I took it indoors over the winter to keep it from freezing up. Working good again in the spring. Keep on the lowest setting so it goes on and off and makes smaller bubbles. The smaller bubbles saturate into the water better. Big Bubbles Escape into the air above. On the lower setting it will also work longer into the evening. In this setting it will work decently for at at least half of the cloudy days. The battery will run out if you have continuous cloudy days, but that should not be so much of an issue because the water temperature drops a little bit lower on the cloudy days. It's the hot days with the Sun out that you want to keep air flowing, because water retains less oxygen as it gets warmer. Built up oxygen levels should carry you for when it's not working because of low light. I don't think low oxygen fish, like goldfish, Rosie Reds and Koi need this in a large enough pond, but I think the extra oxygen keeps them more active. They eat more, better digest and get bigger faster, breed. To reduce the water getting muddier, instead of putting the air stones directly in the mud, put them in a small bucket submuged. This way the Air does not disturb the dirt as much when it blows out. Probably not a good choice if you have fish with high oxygen requirements like trout. ... show more

  • Excellent solar bubbler So good I bought 2 more !
I got one of these to try and was so impressed, I bought 2 more. Set this up on a pond that is over 14 foot deep. Circulation is always an issue, and these solar bubble generators really help. Due to very high heat here in Arizona, anything you can do to oxygenate the water is so important, especially when temperatures soar. These really agitate the water and surface well. It works so well, even at night, that I ordered two more to cover the entire pond. I am very happy to have these. ... show more

  • Works great
I bought this in April for multiple small fish ponds and I’ve had no issues with it so far. I would definitely recommend getting one.
