  • Noticeable different in dust, dander, and odors
Style: Pet Grey
I use this purifier on a daily basis in the living room, where my three dogs spend most of their time. While it doesn't do much for dog hair (and I didn't expect it too), it does cut down on the dust and dander, which I can see when I vacuum off the filter each week. Visitors have also told me my house "doesn't smell like dog," so I guess I have this purifier to thank for that! I sometimes move it around from room to room to get rid of cooking odors, bathroom odors, and occasional smells that waft in from outside. I upgraded the filter to the smoke remover version over the summer, as we were getting some smoke from the wildfires in Canada. I don't have a way to measure air quality, so I'm not sure how much it helped, but I didn't notice any smoke smell while indoors. I just purchased another 300 model to put in the basement -- hoping it helps with the stale smell and reduces the dust down there. ... show more

  • Quiet and can run upside down
Style: Cream White
I read that some people got a unit that was noisy or died within a short time. So far the unit I purchased is awesome. It is quiet on the highest setting, which is the minimum amount of air I need to move. It is lightweight and has a finished bottom. That’s all important because I am using it inverted, as a clean space for electronics. The images only lack the front hole to reach in… coming soon. I’ll probably buy a few more of these HEPA filter units. I have read that the filters might require monthly changes, but I’m hoping that’s because those environments have more particles in the air. That said, I bought a few extra filters to start. ... show more

  • Compact and useful HEPA filter; I've purchased two for bedrooms & travel
Style: Cream White
If you want a HEPA filter for a bedroom or for travel (by auto or when you can afford to carry LARGE suitcases, like on a cruise), the Levoit 200S is a great choice. Though another reviewer had the 200S confiscated by a cruise company, we were able to take ours aboard a ship in August 2022. We contacted the cruise line (Holland America Line) ahead of time by email, packed the 200S in its original box with the certification circled in Sharpie to highlight it, and also wrote "FAN, no heat!" on the box with a pen. (We taped the email where HAL told us it would be okay to use on the ship to the box, and also taped a cruise line issued luggage tag to the box for identification.) HAL inspected the unit as part of the checked luggage process, and it appeared in our room without any issue or further communication alongside our other luggage. The 200S in its box will fit in a large (deep) checked suitcase or an oversized tote bag. It isn't too heavy to carry, even for someone with arthritic joints, but it is rather bulky. For home use, anyone of any age or health status should be able to carry this to the desired room and set it up. All users should note that the filter is WRAPPED IN PLASTIC when the unit is brand new. If you don't unwrap the filter inside the plastic casing, your 200S will be totally unable to filter any allergens. Double check this upon receipt, though a sticker on the unit did remind me to take this step when I first unboxed my 200S HEPA machines. For a cruise stateroom, one of the top features of the 200S model in particular is the built in nightlight. My kids were in an inside cabin with no natural light, and the small nightlight was helpful at night. One of my teens will take this to college for use in a dorm, and the feature may also be good there. I tried a Levoit Mini, which is a nicer size for travel, but it is too small for most bedrooms and the lack of nightlight made me prefer to pack the larger 200S for our cruise. (I've added a photo showing the Levoit 200S stacked below the Levoit Mini along with a tiny PURE HEPA for size comparison for those seeking a travel HEPA option.) Best of all, the nightlight on the 200S is only a feature, and it can be shut off with a tap. The operating lights (glowing touchscreen "buttons") CAN ALSO BE TURNED OFF COMPLETELY, so this unit will run absolutely dark. If light bothers you when you sleep, as it does me, this is perfect. Switching the button lights off does make is somewhat harder to find the correct spot to tap to adjust the speed or turn the lights back on, but I only do this once per day typically, so it is well worth the tradeoff. The Levoit 200S will run totally dark, but there will always be a whirring fan noise because air movement is necessary for the filtration to occur. My kids dislike white noise and run the machine on low when they sleep. I find white noise soothing, and usually keep the unit in my bedroom on setting 2 of 3. If allergens seem bad, or during the day on the cruise ship when the cleaners would enter the room, we run the noisier setting 3 for maximum filtration. It's hard to quantify how well these remove allergens compared to other units, but I've seen good reviews of a related model in Wirecutter so I'm optimistic. Certainly, these are lighter in weight and more aesthetically pleasing than the Honeywell models I used back in the 1980's, though the old metal shells felt sturdier than today's plastic ones. No HEPA filter can work properly if it is undersized to the room, but combining two (or more) small machines in a larger room is an option. Having the internal fan pull in air at multiple points can actually work better than one stronger fan operating to one side of a large or irregularly shaped room. Since my bedroom is larger than the kids', we run two units to reduce allergens there, one one either side of our king sized bed. This isn't the model to buy if you want it to work alone in a large room, but it is reasonable for most small to moderately sized bedrooms. The larger the room, the higher the fan setting you'll need for it to be effective. Only air that passes through the filter has allergens removed from it. I've never bothered with the Smart features on this model. Since I'm trying to reduce allergens where I sleep, I can easily reach the controls. I use the nightlight as I get ready for bed and to walk from the bathroom without bright lights on, then I switch that off and climb into bed in full darkness. For me, this model is perfect. ... show more

  • Cleared my throat pain
Style: Cream White
I'm allergic to dust. Ever since I've moved into a new place, I always woke up with discomfort in my throat. Trust me, I wish there was someone to blame, but I sleep in a bedroom alone. As much as I'd like to say that I've tried everything else before buying this thing, but knowing my allergy issues, this purifier was the first thing I bought. What did surprise me though, was that this completely got rid of my sore throat in the morning. Like a real scientist, I've slept with it off, and poof it came back. So I'm definitely keeping this purifier. Not sure about smart features (I just discovered that it has a sleep mode), but I just need it to clean the room air! Perfect cleaner. Will buy it for every room I have, which is one more. ten out of ten. ... show more

  • Good deal for clean air, no air quality sensor
Style: Cream White
I really like these Levoit air purifiers! So much that I bought two; the Smart Core 300S for a large open area and the Core 200S for a smaller room. They’re both great. I feel as if the air is cleaner after running them for a day. With the 300S, that feeling is measurable by the PM 2.5 figure. I set it off by accidentally burning French toast and the results were clear. I ran that purifier full blast all day. By afternoon, air quality had improved from 481 “Bad” at 8:03 am to 3 “Very Good” by 5:59 pm. With the 200s, the amount of dust removed will remain a mystery, unless I look at the remaining filter percentage. One difference between the Levoit Core 200S and Smart Core 300S, other than room size, is that the 200S has no PM 2.5 air quality sensor. When you use the app, that reading doesn’t appear and it says, “no sensor.” I thought there was an issue, but did more reading and discovered that it was functioning as designed - the 200S is “smart” in the sense that it can be controlled via app, but not equal to the Smart 300S in features. That’s one reason it’s more affordable. If it performs like the Smart 300S, it’s doing an amazing job - just not bragging about it as much. So if you’re not super data-oriented and just want the burnt toast smell gone, this one’s for you! ... show more

Style: Cream White
So far I've had no issues with ear purifier and it works great with Google home. I'm able to control it remotely turn it on when I'm heading home from work. It pretty much fits all my needs. The filters can be a little costly but there are deals out there and I recommend looking for them. I would not recommend ordering the filters directly from the app those are rip off. I will say if you don't want to use the app it's not mandatory which is great. ... show more

  • Removes the cooking odors fast!
Style: Cream White
I fried bacon the first day after this arrived. I don't like cooking odors to linger and the smell of the bacon annoyed me, so I opened up the box and started up this gadget. I was so impressed at how fast the odor from cooking was gone. I have been running this non-stop since and the whole house is odor free and feels refreshed, and this purifier was rated for a room size, not a whole house! I have kept it on the full speed setting and it is a bit loud (52 decibels), but it is in the kitchen so not a problem for me. At the lowest setting it is only at 30 decibels which would be pleasant background noise if you placed this in the bedroom. At the highest setting it also is like a fan as the air exits with force from the purifier through the top openings. I'm very happy with how this purifier has improved the air quality in my home. ... show more

I got one on sale during prime days and it's been fantasticc-- I'm getting another one! I have it on the regular speed almost all the time and don't find the sound bad or annoying. Suck It? Why you ask? Because it's funny af to hear Alexa repeate that after I connected it. "Alexa, turn Suck It on high". Lol. Now, this little thing kicks. Give it about 24 hours after you initially turn it on and wake up to much better, noticeable air quality. The size is perfect. The coverage handles my 900 Sq ft apartment with ease. It's not loud at all, it's more like white noise you hardly notice. The app works great and even tells you the percentage left on the filter and the filters last a long time (I have yet to change mine). I ended up buying two more Levoit products because of this thing. ... show more

Style: Pet Grey
We have a German shepherd/great pyrenees mix at home. Big guy (90 lbs) and super fluffy. This air filter doesn't get clogged with his fur, but does a great job of keeping the dust and dander he brings into the house, out of the air. I have pretty bad spring/summer grass allergies and I have almost no issues when inside when running these. (I bought two). It's pretty quiet, and I like the simple fact that you can turn off the lights for when you are sleeping. ... show more

  • Very Easy to Use and Set Up. Looks Nice in the Room. Needs Some Space Around It. Good Value.
Style: Pet Grey
I had this out of the box and working within a few minutes. The instruction manual is clear and the controls on the air purifier are clear and easy to use. It looks nice and has a clean look to it. Note: The instruction book says it should be situated 15 inches from anything (like a wall) on all sides. I didn't see that anywhere in the listing and I had planned on setting it in a corner so I had to rethink its placement a bit. It's probably more of an efficiency thing than an absolute as the intake for the air is all around the lower part of the unit and the air exits out the top but you will need to give it space to work effectively. The same company makes non-round units that can probably sit next to a wall if this setup doesn't work for you. There are three fan settings. On the lowest, it is peaceful and quiet. It's not silent, but like a very soft white noise machine. I get bothered by noise and this doesn't bother me. The highest setting is somewhat loud but the great thing is, you can set the timer on it and just have it do the high setting for a short time (like two hours) to get the room air circulating and cleaner. Then it can cut back to the quiet level. I used a very simple sound meter on my phone to measure volume and standing right next to the unit I got about 34 dB (decibels) at low level fan, 44 dB at medium level, and 54 dB at high level. For reference, a whisper is about 30 db and an average conversation is about 60 dB unless you are particularly expressive. Overall I'm happy with it and it has received good reviews as a less expensive option that is still very effective. I'm using it for our second, small room which functions as an office...and as the kitty litter room. I can turn it on high when the kitties are visiting their bathroom in the morning and partying in the dust, and then turn it down for the day while we are working and it's a soothing low level background sound. I have two litter boxes so we'll see how it does over the next couple of months but so far I am very happy. It really does look nice in the space and will make the air healthier for all of us. ... show more

  • Very affordable and complete
Style: Cream White
I bought thi air purifier because my sis-i😭n-law & her son were pressing me to buy an expensive Dyson because it supposed,y kills formaldehyde , a known carcinogen. This brand claims to get rid of "VOCs". Of which formaldehyde is one. This purifier is super affordable, and claims to cover over 900 sq. Ft! But Our floor plan is too chopped up to take advantage if that fact. Anyway, I wanted to try this option to see if I even wanted to pursue this. We bought a house and had some construction done to it before & after we moved in. I kept choking on the smell of shaved wood/ sawdust every time I entered the living room, which had the most work done. After leaving it on Low overnight, the room's air was much easier to breathe. I move it from room to room, wherever I plan to stay for a while. I really like it & would highly recommend it for its price point, ... show more
