Description

Lower electrical costs and add convenience to everyday living by replacing a standard switch with a Leviton DOS02 Motion Sensor Light Switch. 180° Field of View and 900 sq. ft. of coverage, the Motion Sensor Switch uses passive infrared technology to monitor a space and automatically turns the lights on when you enter a room, and off when you leave making them a simple, convenient and cost-effective way to automate a space in your home. They are ideal to use in rooms where you frequently enter and exit with your hands full such as laundry rooms, basements, storage areas, pantries, and garages. Easy to install with a slim profile that fits in a standard wallbox, they can be wired with or without a neutral wire which makes them perfect for newer and older homes. The interchangeable line and load wires help reduce the risk of miswiring. User-friendly customization by pressing the push pad to adjust time out, sensitivity, ambient light settings with no tools and no need to remove the wallplate and faceplate. Single pole, 150W LED/CFL, 250W Incandescent/Halogen, 200VA Magnetic Low Voltage, 250VA Electronic Low Voltage, 2A Resistive, wallplate sold separately. These are great for places you are in and out of a lot, where people tend to leave lights on. We have them in our laundry room, hallways, and work shops. Placement is important to get coverage in your working area, so it does not turn off while you are in the room. It has options for duration, so for example in a workshop, it’s not turning on/off a lot, but in hallways, you really only want it on for short durations. I am loving this switch in my laundry room for two reasons. Everyone has a habit of leaving lights on and this automatically turns them off at a set interval (manual, 1min, 5 min, 10min, 15min) and typically when walking into the laundry room i have a basketful of clothes in my hand making it hard to hit the lights and with this sensor the lights automatically come on as soon as i pass the door threshold. I found the sensor to be quick and responsive with very little delay in lights turning on as soon as I enter. Overall this setup is perfect for me and while small is a big "modern" efficiency solution for the lighting in my laundry room. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I had this switch wired up, the range, sensitivity, and shutoff time adjusted in about 30 minutes. Great switch, and for the price, you can't beat it. Now I don't have to ask my wife to turn off the pantry light when she is done. Auto on, auto off. Perfect! If you are having problems figuring out or adjusting the settings, head over to YouTube and search for Seth Williams DOS02-LW Decora. This unit can be used 2 ways. i use it as a simple motion detector timed light switch. it can also be used as an "occupied room" switch. The programming after installation was not a smooth process for me but i set it for the time i want the light on. Very Good feature is it does not lose programming if there is a power interruption. it does not need a ground and a neutral wire, just one or the other. ... show more
