  • Good not great - old style
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Very 1960 tech. in the way it opens & wires attach. Not an issue for me - had experience log ago. But to some less experienced might be an issue. My discovered issue was the width of the plug. I have surge protectors on most of my outlets (lightning protection) These protectors outlet slots are close together and next to each other. This plug overlaps the plug slots next to it, making plugging something in next to it difficult. Other than that, I had no issues matches well with the "antique braided lamp cord. ... show more

  • These plugs use screw connections
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
These are polarized but not grounded. Not easy to open. Label covers tab. They use small screw connections. Not clamp through zip cord that look the same. No strain relief, but very cheap. Tin / solder tips of stranded wire. 16 Ga or smaller wire.

  • Solid DIY plug.
Size: Pack of 4
Super sturdy plug that work great for round cords. They are tough to get apart. I use two flat head screw drivers. You will also need a flat head screw driver to attach the wires.

  • If you're in a hurry, you'll be frustrated
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
This is an old school, unpolarized replacement plug. It’s a made-in-Mexico bargain. The blades are identical so it can be plugged in either way. This might pose a safety hazard for some ungrounded appliances, should they short out internally. Its sturdy and well made and once installed should last, just about forever. But there’s the rub. Installation is not convenient or easy. First, a bar code label covers one side and obscures the latch under it. If you pry open just the exposed latch, the plug won’t come apart. You have to pry on both sides to release both latches and the label hides that fact. Then, the installation requires some forethought (no instructions supplied). Before wiring up, you need to thread half the plug, the cover, over the lead and tie an underwriter’s knot. There isn’t a lot of room for it to fit, so, if taking the plug apart was hard, putting it back together is harder still. I needed a pair of pliers because I didn’t have the finger strength to assemble the plug. You'll also need a slot-head screwdriver to pry it apart and to screw the terminals down. Not necessary, but because a soldering iron was handy, I also soldered the stripped wire ends so that they wouldn’t spread under compression. If you have the time, this is a good plug made of good materials. If you are in a hurry, you will be frustrated and disappointed. ... show more

  • Not well made, won't last.
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
The cover is made from a soft plastic which will become dry and brittle with age. To get into the plug to insert the wires, you must pry up both sides at the same time, substantially deforming the soft plastic cover. These plugs are unsuitable for anything you want to last more than a few years. I cannot recommend them. They appear to be made as cheaply as possible. ... show more

  • Hard as heck to open for installation, but works fine...
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I got this to replace the broken plug on an old fan, and it worked alright. My only complaint, as some other reviews mentioned, is that this thing is a NIGHTMARE to get open. There are two little click in place tongues on either side, which are REALLY tight and need to be forcefully pushed and wedged outward simultaneously with some sort of tool like a flathead screwdriver (one screwdriver on each side simultaneously). It is difficult to the point of being ridiculous. I am a very careful and coordinated person, but even I stabbed myself mightily with a screwdriver during the process and bled all over the thing. There has got to be a better way to design this thing without making it that difficult to open. Once you do get it open, it's a piece of cake to strip the wire ends, tighten them on, and close it. ... show more

  • The best replacement plug ever and the easiest to install. I just ordered another one!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I'm not an electrical engineer but nearly 69 and have replaced a lot of plugs. I found this to be the easiest to install, the safest, and for a now low voltage lamp used in an old house to be superior to most. It was extremely easy to pry open with one screwdriver, the contact screws were easy to open enough to very securely attached the stripped wires, and the very tightly secure them. It is a non-polarized two prong plug, as advertised, and for me that is a plus not a minus. Now that I'm using LED bulbs, voltage is very low, but after having the previous plug fail, I'm very glad that the wires are far apart and the plug is very well insulated. It's super! For new customers: divide and strip the cord wires about 1/2 inch, open the new plug by prying both sides open with a screw driver. Pull the plug open with the wire stripper plier. Unscrew the two contacts. Twist the individual threats of the bared wires with our fingers and curve them into loop to go over the opened contact screws so that tightening the screw contacts will pull them in the direction of the tirghtening. Pull the twisted bared wires into place around the opened contract screws. Retighten the screws and then pull the plug down to go into the original shape. Hold the blades of the plug and pull the cover down tightlly. if necessary, tighten the cover around the two tabs that you pried open to start with. The plug become very stable. The new contacts are very tight and stable, and the plug is BETTER than a factory installed new one! ... show more
