Easy to install if you know how to strip a wire and use a screwdriver, and you have a little electrical knowledge. I only needed 2 plugs for a pair of lamps I replaced the plugs on, but the price on a 10 pack was great. Got 10 for what I'd pay for 3 individually. Yeah you probably can go to your local big box store, or hardware store and save a buck.... but the gas, time etc is too valuable to me. Amazon had it on my door step the next morning. :) Couple of pointers: This is a polarized 2 prong plug. One prong is slightly smaller than the other. The hot wire connects to the smaller prong. On lamps and small appliances the hot wire will be smooth, while the neutral wire will have a ribbing (or in some cases a marking) running along the length of the outer insulation. That's the easy way to tell which is hot.... IF everything is as it should be! IF you have any doubt, perhaps your appliance is an out of the ordinary type, or from a foreign country... maybe a do it yourself made shop project...... be sure and check with a multimeter to be sure which is hot. Wondering what happens if you wire it up backwards? Then current still runs into the appliance even when it's turn off. The device will shut off, but current is still running into it when it should not be. This could damage the device and/or cause injury. If in doubt, when it comes to anything dealing with electricity get someone who knows what they are doing. One final point and perhaps this might be why you are replacing a plug in the first place..... When unplugging anything from an outlet, GRAB THE PLUG NOT THE WIRE!!! The wire is not meant to be pulled on. Stay safe.

Great product - solid construction, I like the screw down “clamp” action that secures the two halves of the plug. I do a lot of electrical repair work , make a lot of custom 2 and 3 wire extension cords and I HATE running to the hardware store and paying inflated retail prices for items like this. So I buy in bulk, save the fuel costs driving to and from the big box hardware store, avoid the COVID risk and get the repair done fast. For some reason, Leviton or Amazon does not show the photos of the best feature of these plugs - the “clamshell” action held in place by a screw (see my photos) These plugs work best with flat lamp cord, NOT round extension cord type wire. Since they are 2 prong, they are for ungrounded wire only - 2 connector - no ground wire. Leviton is a reliable name, products are solid and they work well. Hope that helps!

The large terminal screws in this plug make it very easy to wire a variety of lamp or appliance cords, without the wire strands splaying out under the screw. You can easily keep all of the wire strands under the screw head. This is not the case in many other brands. I have used this plug by the dozens for my custom built lamp projects. It works well with flat, round or twisted cloth cord. I prefer this plug over virtually everything else, especially since it has polarized blades. This plug is fine for most replacement plug projects as well. It is larger than a factory molded plug, so make sure you have enough space on your outlet with adjacent cord plugs.

I had a couple of damaged cords that needed new plugs. These are well made and super easy to put on. Low cost was a benefit as well.

Good quality and they make a good replacement plug as far as electrical requirements are concerned but they have a broader footprint than expected; they may crowd adjacent plugs on the same strip so keep this in mind when configuring your power-grid...

Perfect solution to the plugs my dog chewed off my recliners. Cheaper for 10 than 2 in the store. Don't know what I'll do with the rest but I guess they're good to have.
