These Levi’s 501 shorts are exactly what I was hoping for—classic, well-made, and flattering. The denim feels sturdy but still has a comfortable fit that gets better with wear. Ok, first of all these are such cute shorts and perfect for the summer. They are such good quality and make any outfit cute. I will say my only complaint would be that they run pretty small. I am 5'9 and 160 Ish pounds with some thicker thighs and usually wear a 28 I ended up getting a size 30 and they fit just right. I am probably going to wash them, and air dry them because I am not sure if they will shrink or not. I feel like they have a tiny bit of stretch in them but I wouldn't bank on them stretching a whole bunch more just because of the material. They are a good length I am used to a little longer and they did ride up a tad but nothing too bad.

I always have trouble finding jeans that are "appropriate" for a mid-thirties year old that my butt isn't hanging out if I were at a family function, but can still feel confident in on a date night. I have zero torso, so low-rise shorts make me feel like my crack may show, where sometimes they show too much cheek, especially with long legs. These fit perfectly, I teeter between sizes 26-29; it's frustrating. These so far have fit the same, from wearing them multiple days to fresh out of the dryer. I have several of these shorts as far as colors go, and this one is my favorite. They are comfortable, with quality stitching and deep pockets that dont buldge or stick out full or with nothing in them.

I'm 5'5 115 lbs and usually a size 27 in levis, so that's what i got. I got them in "lunar black" and "black deconstructed." Not sure why, since both of these shorts are really similar except for one of them has more rips in them (I can't remember exactly what i was thinking at the time when i ordered, but LOL I do remember feeling ridiculously torn about which ones to get!). Despite the fact that they're supposed to be the same size, the "black deconstructed" pair was too small for me (both too short and tight). They did seem to have a 2.5 inch inseam, so maybe they were just tighter in the waist and forced me to pull them up higher? I don't know, but they measured about 11inches long from the waist band to the bottom on the sides. They're really cute, but small enough that i had to return them. Still considering if it's worth ordering them in size 28 (since i'm keeping the other ones, probably not, but i also feel like i can never have too many pairs of shorts if i like them). The size 27 "lunar black" shorts measure nearly 12 inches long with a nearly 3 inch inseam. They weren't as tight as the other pair and fit me like normal. You wouldn't think it from looking at them though (i don't know if it's the cut or whatever, but they LOOK like they should be shorter than the other pair). I hate that they have a button fly (i find them so annoying!!!) but i like the style enough to deal with it. As for whether you should order up, Levis DOES advise sizing up with these. I ignored that, b/c I was worried that if i ordered these shorts too big they would look like a saggy diaper on me, but now i think one size bigger would be okay, so i say go for it. They are 100 percent cotton, so they'll loosen up with wear, but they could also shrink depending on how you wash.

So I have been searching for a pair of shorts for the longest time that don’t absolutely destroy my confidence. I bought the Levi's Women's 501 Original Shorts in New (blow big horns) and all I can say is JUST GET THEM!!! This is the first review that I have ever left, and I cannot believe how perfect these fit. They are soft, stretchy, when I sit down my thighs aren’t uncomfortable. The shorts are flexible, flattering from all angles. For sizing reference, I am 5’8, 150lbs and my waist is 29. I ordered size 30 for these shorts. I could have even sized down, but they are a comfortable fit. There definitely is a little bit of extra space in the back, my build is a smaller waist, but i carry majority of my weight in my thighs and hips. As someone who is 5’8 with semi athletic/ semi curvy build, my butt is not sticking out, my thighs have room to breathe, they are the perfect length. It’s cute and tall approved.

I have 2 other pairs of these shorts in different colors as well. They're are my favorite shorts! They fit so well and they're comfortable! They stretch out after a little wear but I like that. I'm 5'2, 127lbs athletic build. I'm going to continue to buy more every time they're on sale!
