I put 1 of these in my utility room (pictured), and 3 in the garage. These replaced florescent fixtures of the same length and the bigness is significantly more. We love it though. I could see some people thinking these are too bright. They are dimmable, but I elected not to install the dimming capability which requires more wires and dimmer switches, so mine are full bright or off. The garage is something to behold. 12,000 lumens of goodness is like being outside at noon with them on. HAHA They look really nice too. Very minimalist and clean. The light is very even with no dark spots. They turn on nearly instantly. Faster than florescent, but not the fastest LEDs I've ever seen. The installation would have been super easy except the safety chains are much longer than the wires. I guess they assume you have longer wires coming out of your home to meet them, but in all 4 instances for me, the wires I had were too short which made installing by one person nearly impossible having to support the weight of the light while connecting the wires one handed. I did develop a technique for this: Screw the thing onto the light end wires first, then the stiffer wires coming from the ceiling could be pushed in and screwed down while holing up the light with my other hand, then mounting the light not letting the wires ever support the weight. Whew, my arms were sore though. Another fix would have been to find a way to shorten the support cables, but I didn't have to. I would suggest the manufacture consider making the support wires and electrical wires the same length to avoid this issue for others. ... show more
