I got these mats specifically to work with polymer clay, but the clay sticks to them way more than is ideal. One of the pictures shows someone working with clay so I thought it might be ok, but it’s not great. They also collect dust and other particles really easily, which is bad for working with clay. And they’re also now permanently (but lightly) stained from both chalk pastel dust and oil paint, both of which did not sit long on the surface at all. I’ll keep them because they were inexpensive and I can use them for a lot of other crafts, but they are not an ideal surface for clay. Also keep in mind that some pigments may stain them (which isn’t the biggest deal in the world but just be aware.) I like the transparent one because you can place it over a cutting mat and still see the measurements underneath.
