  • This is really amazing for the price!
Color: Cherry Sunburst
I got this as a Father's Day present (from my wishlist) I watched about a dozen review videos about it and the evolution of the guitar over the last few years and it really seemed like a good option for a 53 year old beginner like myself. First off, this is an absolutely gorgeous guitar. The finish on mine is flawless. And the color is amazing. I would expect this to cost about $500 more than the $189 paid. And it feels like a quality piece. No sharp frets. The fretboard was perfectly level. I can't find any problems with the frets. The do need to be polished, but I'm swapping out the strings and will oil the fretboard as well. I plan on upgrading the nut as well. It sounds like I expected. I'm not a professional, I'm still learning. So, for me, it sounds like an electric guitar. I tuned it up and started playing comfortably right off the bat. It will need some fine tuning. And I recommend having someone set it up if you don't know how. I'm very excited about this guitar. It has exceeded my expectations. ... show more

  • Is This The Best Value On Amazon?
Color: Violet Flame
I play Les Paul copies exclusively and I really like finding good quality, cheap guitars. This is a superb quality cheap guitar.; I immediately had an Evertune bridge installed. This makes the guitar intonate perfectly anywhere on the fretboard and also stay in tune perfectly, so I can't speak to the guitar's "stay-in-tuneness" but it has become my go-to guitar. Aside from the beautiful color, the pickups sound amazing from 1 to 11 on the volume knob. I run a high gain patch on my Kemper Profiler Pedal and just ride my volume knob to adjust the gain. These stock humbucker pickups are as flexible as anything I've ever played, I love them. My other guitars use Lollar Broilers, a single coil which I love, but these humbuckers in a $200 guitar give them a run for their money. I love this guitar. I can afford to buy Gibson, but why would I when China is making guitars of this quality? 10/10, The only critique I have is that it's not purple enough for me. : ) ... show more

  • Verrrry Nice Surprise!
Color: US Flag
Verrrrry cool present from my Wife. Unexpected. When I opened the Box I was Shocked that it was from Amazon. I've never bought a guitar online or one that I didn't play first. This really surprised me, after a set up (neck, action, pickup height and intonation adjustments) its actually a really NICE Guitar. Before the set up, unplayable. E, A & D saddles needed to be turned around for intonation to be possible. I'd never compare it to a my old Gibson. However, Compared to other guitars I've played in Sam Ash, Guitar Center and local shops near me, this Guitar is definitely more than worth the selling price. I'd say its comparable to at least a new $400 guitar. The Grover tuners look great and they work well. It stays in tune better than my OLD Gibson SG ever did. Pots are smooth and not scratchy. Fret work, fret board, Nice after a cleaning and oiling. Pickup switch and output jack could be better. Over all, IMO, this is a GREAT Guitar for the price. I added a pick guard and silver/black control knobs. Was planning to upgrade to some blk Wilkinson hardware (bridge and saddle) new pickups and locking tuners, but its not necessary. The Guitar looks Great the way it is, stays in tune and the pickups are GOOD. I'm going to keep it the way it is for now. I definitely recommend this Guitar for a beginner who knows someone who can do a set up. If I was a beginner I wouldn't know what to do with this when I fist opened the box. I hated my 1st guitar, it buzzed, when it was in tune chords would be out of tune, it NEVER stayed in tune, etc... Very discouraging. Now I know whats up with that stuff and its easily fixable. A beginner may not know what to do. Beginners should, I think, go to a guitar store for their 1st Guitar. One that is already set up or pay someone to set THIS up. Its worth paying for a set up for this guitar. So, I'm Not comparing this to a Gibson. For the price, the quality, sound, feel and over all everything, I give it 4.5 stars for quality/price. Pick guard- KAISH Black 3 Ply LP Guitar Pickguard with Black Bracket for Epi Les Paul Control knobs - Musiclily Pro Metric Size 18 Spline Electric Guitar Speed Knobs for Epiphone Les Paul SG Asia Import Guitar Bass Split Shaft Pots, Chrome. Update--- Over one year later, this is still my go to. I have other Guitars I've paid MUCH more for (Gibson LP, BC Rich, Jackson, Ibanez). This one is the one I'll always have out and play 1st. Changing things and updating a guitar is something I do to them all, even the Gibson, so its modified and will continue to be, like all the rest. I Still recommend and will probably get another one soon. All new wiring, switch, jack and Alnico 2 pickups. Original tuning pegs. Update 2 - 6/24/25 Still the guitar I keep next to me in the livingroom. Annnnd, I got the Matte Black. Blacked everything out and gutted it. New Pots, wires, capacitor, switch, tuners, etc... Wasn't necessary, just wanted to. Update 3 - 11/25 - Matte black is my #1. Gutted it again and installed the ZW EMG kit. Very Good guitar. Love em' both. I still recommend them. ... show more
