This Leo Jaymes mini amp has pretty good sound and can be used anywhere. It has a detachable carrying handle. When fully charged, its internal battery allows about 5 hours of use at 80% volume. The 15-watt power rating refers to peak power, but this amp can get fairly loud. The closed-back wedge-shaped cabinet with its 5-inch speaker handles the volume even when cranked. There are Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble and Master controls. The overdrive option sounds best at lower-gain settings; turn up the gain and it gets muddy. The onboard digital reverb sounds OK but not great. I get better reverb sounds from a couple of my pedals. This amp has Bluetooth capability if you're into that. When using Bluetooth, the volume can be adjusted only by the external device. On the rear panel, we have guitar and headphone inputs, the power jack and the power switch. A charging cable is included, but no charger. The usual 5V 2A charger is required. My test guitar was a Strat clone with Alnico V pickups. The Leo Jaymes mini amp looks nice, with its woodgrain panels and vintagey grille cloth. The main selling point here is portability. It performs fairly well, but in all honesty, my tiny Hibilly mini amp performs similarly (without reverb, though) at half the price of the Jaymes. I wouldn't steer anyone away from this amp, but it's unfortunate that you can't try before you buy. ... show more

I know it shouldn't matter but this amps looks really cool. You can leave it out on a table and it becomes an accent piece that really works. It's nice and loud with a clear sound. I didn't play with the controls too much because I'm just learning to play guitar and don't know what I'm doing. Size wise, it's perfect. I have a bigger one that is not travel friendly. And I have one of the tiny amps you sometimes get for free when you buy a guitar. This one is right in the middle. It sounds way better than the little one but is much more portable than the large one I have. It has a mysterious black plate on the back. I have no idea what's under it but I'm curious and may remove it to look. ... show more

I wasn't sure of what to expect. when dealing with mini amps, you normally get what you pay for. This little wedge amp has some serious sound. Great for practicing if you don't want to lug around a full size amp. This is great. The pull out overdrive really created a nice sound from my guitar, and while I didn't notice much difference when turning the gain all the way up, the reverb did a wonderful job of adding depth to the sound. Also, the blue tooth connection is awesome. I plan on using this when we go to nursing home for our senior outreach services. The connection with my phone lets me play any tune I have stored. compact practice amp w/ decent sound. has the nice retro wood look with textile grille. good control knobs with pullout overdrive. volume is loud enough the size. has a bluetooth function also, there is no control for bt volume, you have to adjust from the source. overall not bad.
