I rarely write reviews but this is the worst laptop I've ever purchased, and I have a ton of them. I bought it because it has a tough exterior and is good for traveling around, and that is still true. But whatever software Lenovo installed is horrendous. I've had to factory reset this computer multiple times!!! when Windows updates create some sort of configuration problem due to whatever is installed on this machine - and mind you, this is on a nearly blank device that is used only for work! I've never had this sort of trouble with any other computer, much less one with so little installed. Finally, I tried updating the Lenovo software... and it promptly erased my local user. All my settings, configs: gone. I wish I could return this lemon but the first time it pulled this stunt was past the incredibly short return window. It's happened several times since then. If I didn't need to have an extra work laptop I'd junk it. Regardless, this review will likely get lost in a sea of AI-generated 5-stars, and/or the seller will just cancel this product and start selling it again under a different listing. It's very frustrating but I still felt the need to scream into the wind. At a minimum, I'll never buy another Lenovo product, and probably not another laptop off Amazon. Oh and the whole "we put the Fn key where the Ctl key should be" thing really is as annoying as you think. I can't believe they still sell laptops that way. ... show more

Best computer I have ever owned. Lots of ports. nice screen. runs quiet. solid. so much better than multiple Dells I have owned (what junk). A very, very useful laptop that I use for work.

    • Decent no-frills laptop

Currently running Windows 11/Fedora linux dual boot. Computer runs fine. I use it most days for some programming/networking uses I can't do at my desktop. It's sturdy and I don't feel like I need to be extremely cautious with it. The keyboard feels nice and I like the trackpad. Battery life is pretty decent if you enable power saving mode and don't crank the screen brightness/use heavy programs while not plugged in. The only downsides I've seen so far are minor: 1. the top of the screen/lid attracts fingerprints like nothing else. It doe snot look great after like 5 minutes of holding the laptop. 2. some of the decisions on the keyboard are a little awkward. Like swapping the Fn and ctrl keys, usually the ctrl key is on the bottom left corner and then the Fn key is the second one in on all the other laptops I've used. This is something I don't think I'll get used to. 3. the trackpad is very far to the left.There isn't much palm rest room there. Fortunately if I need to use this laptop for more than an hour I have the option to dock it and work with an external keyboard, but for those times I'm not working like that it can be annoying. ... show more

Overall good value for price. There are a few problems the came up after 2 months, such as fingerprint sensor occasionally not work and a bug with the screen brightness adjuster. When I click the brightness up manually, the brightness goes down instead. This can be fixed by changing brightness in settings or restarting. Additionally, the w, e, r, d, f, c, and v keys on my keyboard produces a rattling noise whenever I'm typing and the laptop is placed directly on a flat and hard surface. The trackpad isn't very good, and I mostly use an external mouse. Besides that, laptop runs fine. ... show more
