Top Amazon Reviews

  • Initial review. Updated
This is a prelim review of this product. I ordered the the other day and it arrived today while I was at work and I am just now opening it up to start working on it later tonight and the next day or so to get it ready to use. Note I am using this for a weather processing workstation so I am not really looking for a regular computer. It will be headless (no keyboard and Video) after I get the initial setup and will use RealVNC to access it remotely from that point on. Some of my requirements are most likely not like some that are getting a computer for regular computer with monitor, keyboard and mouse accessing regular windows, some games etc... So with that in mind, first impressions. o Package was okay, not great but so far nothing is broken or missing o Keyboard is cheap, and I haven't even taken it out of the box yet as I already have a decent spare computer to use while setting up. o Mouse looks okay, USB laser mouse. o The box is pretty clean, looks like some sort clay spots, not really sure but it cleaned up okay. o Case is straight, not bent, and opens easily. o Documentation, basically none, just a RMA 8-1/2x11" sheet with information on it. o The computer has both a Service Tag number and a Win7Pro 64 bit tag on it. Pros: o It is really more of a desktop than a tower, though it has feet for both positions. o While heavy it is a fairly small foot print and a perfect size for what I am looking for. It is not a light cheap computer Cons: If you plan on using this daily you will most likely want to get a better keyboard and mouse. The ones that come with this are not Lenovo parts and very basic. Other than that which for me is not really an issue everything seems okay. Will know more once I get it completely online, getting updates to the OS etc.. Will update as I get it online and eventually after it has been up and running a couple months. I did take a few pictures but I am in a dark area so I will take more when I get some light on the subject. One is the insides of the computer which the main ad didn't show, a good look at the back ports and what the packaging looked like when I opened it. Note the box was inside another box, the one viewed is the inside box. **UPDATE** Next day Okay, got it all plugged and started configuring it. Everything plugged in correctly, I even used the included keyboard (cheap but usable) and mouse, I plugged a wireless WiFi USB in so I could configure this away from where the network cable is and will move that later. Started up without any issues, when it asked for the Windows 7 Pro key, the key was on the side of the box (part of it covered by a rub off protection square, and entered it. Worked okay. Software already loaded, not much: o Bullguard Anti-Virus... Not familiar with it and plan to use something else so I uninstalled it. o Suite of Correl WordPerfect doc, spreadsheet, and whatnot, don't plan on using this as a regular computer so Uninstalled Added: o Chrome browser and made default o Adblock o MS Security Essentials o Paid Malwarebytes o B-folders for my security password wallet o RealVNC for remote access to the box when I remove the keyboard and monitor. o and of course GWX Control panel to prevent Win10 from being installed. Would make no point for the purpose of this computer and why I bought a computer with Win7pro to begin with. It is now doing windows updates which will take it a while. It is really not that far behind but updates normally take a bit with some user interaction. Performance is great, it is fast, quiet, not too hot. More to come after I get it moved to the gigabit switch in the network rather than the slower USB WiFi I have it on now. **UPDATE** Added 5th star. Unit has been flawless, only delay has been applying window updates, which required some manual intervention but the is not the boxes fault. Fast, quiet, going to be a nice headless workstation. ... show more

Have not used it to date... Film (aesthetics) placed around the outside of the computer is sharp and not adhering well. Cut finger's on trimmed sharp edges, removing from shipping container. One of four pin's to hold the hard drive, unsecured (which is resolved. If refurbished, dusty internally and removed.. ... show more

  • Badly damaged but worked
The computer was badly bent across the back panel as if crushed. the front trim was nocked off and broken and the dvd drive was knocked loose. the computer was filthy and the partial bubble wrap was loose inthe too large a box to fit the product. The only reason I kept it was that it did work. I then straighten out the cabinet back, reattached the dvd drive and taped the front trim back on. It hardly met the criteria of no visiable damage from 12" away!! ... show more

Excellent computer for the money. It has served me well. I was always skeptical about the brand Lenovo but it is just as good as any other brand. Worth the money.

  • Everything works just fine. I'm a happy
This is my second refurbished Lenovo ThinkCentre. The first was a M91p, usb 2.0 ($229.00) and worked as I wanted except for the DVD mechanism so I had to send it back for a refund. This M92p ThinkCentre cost less ($190.00) than the first and includes usb 3.0. Everything works just fine. I'm a happy, happy buyer! ... show more
