    • Buyer Beware: Modified Lenovo Laptop

When I originally bought this laptop back in October 2024, I was very impressed with the system. It ran fine up until issues started in November with the laptop freezing during gaming. No matter how many cooling pads/fans, lowering graphics, limiting programs, the system would continuously freeze. The issues conveniently started AFTER the 30 day return period. Thankfully, I still had the Lenovo warranty, right? The issues still persisted and I learned now in April that this is not in fact a new computer. The model I bought was bought by this vendor from Lenovo in June 2024 and then modded with additional features that differ from the Lenovo based model. Modifications to the original build of materials of the unit are not covered by unauthorized 3rd party modifications or any damage caused by said modifications. Meanings - if any issues stem from the mods (which how would you, the average laptop buyer know this?) then the Lenovo manufacturer warranty will not cover it. When I reported the issue to Amazon in February (as at that point I had already sent the laptop back to Lenovo twice and the issues still persisted) Amazon said that it was past the return period and they would not refund. They instead directed me back to handling issues via the manufacturer's warranty. But here's the problem: If the issues are caused by the mods and that isn't covered by Lenovo, you're stuck with a lemon of a laptop after spending so much on it. This is frustrating because the listing of this computer on Amazon doesn't mention it being modded, implies that it's new, and even makes you think you're buying from Lenovo directly via Amazon given that the link to the Lenovo brand site is at the top under the title of the listing, while the shop name seller is smaller and hidden on the far right of the screen where the "Buy Now" is smaller. There is no mention in the listing of this being an explicitly modded 3rd party laptop or even "refurbished". Nor is there any mention of this going against the Lenovo Warranty that Amazon wants to point you towards. It has been a frustrating time dealing with unhelpful Amazon reps and a back and forth of Lenovo, who has been gracious enough to try and solve the issues despite this. If you're looking for laptops on Amazon, be safe and buy from the manufacturer directly lest you be stuck in a similar cycle. ... show more

overall seemed like a good idea. but it keeps crashing and breaking (screen flickers, freezes, forced shutdowns and reboots, etc). we have the warranty and sent it in for repairs twice now, the last time we sent it in all they did was replace the thermal paste and guess what? it continues to crash and blackscreen and stutter with no reason we can find from home. tech support at lenovo has been garbage, and refusing to work with us. and I'm about to get on the phone with them to demand my money back to give to a company that hasnt let me down yet. like Acer. also a weird issue where bluetooth headphones dont work at the same time as games with voice chat? only happens with this device out of all the other devices in the house so no idea what that is about. ... show more

    • Black Screen after Windows Update. Nothing helps. Absolute trash!

I was very excited to recieve it. Me and my and ms son were waiting for UPS guy to show up. When we finaly recieved it, we were so thrilled to turn it on! We went through all registration process and Windows update. Ufter update the screen just won't turn on... Just black screen. But backlit keyboard is on. After internet research I've learned that this is very common problem for Lenovo laptops. We tried every step that was described on oficial Lenovo forums in terms of troubleshooting and "power drain". Nothing works! The frustration is real. I have initiated return and learned that if it's open box then it might be 10% restocking fee. Are you kidding me? I paid $1,789.00 before taxes (almost $2000 with taxes). So they will be charging me $178.90 for buying a faulty product? This is absolutely rediculous! After printing a shipping label, It seems that I have to pay for my own shipping as well, I am not sure yet. The seller is PCOnline. So far I can tell, that if you pay $2000 for computer this souldn't be like this. I will keep updating upon situation developing. So far don't buy newest Lenovo Legion specificaly from this seller. ... show more
