Arrived promptly, shipped from Delaware, well packaged, in an outer box, and the Lenovo box still, apparently, factory sealed. When I used Lenovo Advantage (Lenovo's support application program), I noted a one-year depot service warranty in effect, but the program further noted that the computer had originally been shipped from Lenovo in China to the UAE, and Elite Computers advises that they provide a warranty from a third party, which they handle, as needed... note I have had a number of Lenovo laptop computers (mostly ThinkPads) and have never had a need for warranty services.     • Great little laptop
Somehow I didn't notice this until it showed up and I started using it but this model does not have a touch screen. I had a less expensive and smaller Lenovo prior to this one that did have a touch screen so that was a little disappointing but it's fine. That's my fault for not noticing. Nice laptop for the sale price. Good strong quality on hardware. The only downside is there is no backlight in the keyboard.

Works great. I wish that the WiFi chipset was natively supported on debian. I had to build my own driver and set it up for DKMS rebuild and install on kernel upgrade.

    • Buyer beware. Laptop cannot be serviced under warranty by Lenovo in the U.S.
This was a good value when considering the laptop's components to the price. We received it and used it about 2 hours in the first 2 months. Then we started some serious setup and started getting repeated blue screens. When learning that the seller imposed a 2 month return policy on Amazon, we contacted Lenovo to exercise the 1 year manufacturer's warranty. To our shock, they WOULD NOT honor the warranty, because it was "sold" in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and could only be sent from there to Lenovo for service. I was out of luck because I lived in the United States. When contacting the seller and asking for an exception to their 2 month return policy (at the 2.5 month mark) because of the undisclosed situation of place of original purchase, they gave me a HARD NO. However, to their credit, they did offer to service it, even by sending me a paid shipping label. At this point, I didn't extend a lot of trust to them because of the original deception. It was touch and go for a while because their (assumed) untrained technicians wrote me back twice unable to find the problem. (They probably booted it up once or twice and likely got lucky that it didn't blue screen.) Eventually, they shipped it back as "fixed" without even disclosing what they did to "fix it". After a few inquiries, they finally said that they replaced the defective RAM. So far, after 1 month of general light use (installing MS Office and running several tasks), it is at least functioning without any blue screens. We are able to do much more on it that we were able to previously. ... show more

    • The laptop stopped working after five months, the manufacturer won't cover it with its warrenty.
The laptop stopped working after five months. When I called its customer service, they said the warranty can't cover it because it was manufactured in a Middle Eastern country. Why the hell do I need to know where the laptop was manufactured? If there's no warranty due to it, they should have stated that. Obviously, I wouldn't buy it. When Amazon customer service called, they said they would honor and make a refund immediately. But now they have changed their mind. This is the worst experience. ... show more
