  • A fun, sometimes challenging build
Color: Multicolor
So I bought this for my nephew two years ago and he never did it. I love doing Lego cars so I asked if I could. It was a fun and challenging build. It took a total of about 20 hours. One thing I really love about the Technic sets is how you get to build a working differential, steering linkage and best of all you get to watch the pistons in the engine move. Definitely a great buy for any Lego lover, but maybe not for the beginner. It takes time, but these builds are always rewarding. ... show more

  • Hours of fun and challenging!
Color: Multicolor
We bought a lot of advanced Lego kits over the past two years (lots of time spent indoors, at home). Found the Ferrari kit online, it looked like a challenge and it was. Lots of fun and it feels like a significant achievement when completed. It was a little expensive, but worth it. The final, completed Lego model is beautiful. The instruction guide contained a lot of additional info about Ferrari - a good read. ... show more

  • Great midrange Technic
Color: Multicolor
I really liked this kit a lot. It’s comparable to the Porsche 911 RSR in size/difficulty but this one just seemed to look so much better throughout the build process. There weren’t as many “gaps” or openings around the pieces which gave a more streamlined end product. A lot of the reviews ding it on the number of stickers but to be honest I enjoy the look of the more realistic model and didn’t mind them as multiple stickers were usually bundled in the same step. The suspension is awesome and very responsive. The engine gear connections and engine mounting seemed simpler than other models. For a mid range model I was very impressed with the build and end product. I liked the front end build up and the sliding action to bring it all in line to make the connections. Seemed to be more thought out and solid in construction than the Porsche. I love these sets and this is one of the best. Look forward to the future sets of this level. Still love the Bugatti but for a mid range this one is awesome. ... show more

  • Outstanding build

Legos are pretty darn dependable

  • Another really nice car from the TECHNIC line of LEGO
Color: Multicolor
This model was a delight to assemble. Instructions clear, 2 sheets of stickers for the race car look. The engine and driveline a nice touch and the more accurate steering wheel operation was appreciated. Makes a perfect companion on my shelf for the TECHNIC Ford GT!

  • Good midrange Technic set
Color: Multicolor
I consider this to be a midrange set. There is no gearbox to build, so its slightly easier for younger builders. It's a pretty large set (see picture in comparison to the Bugatti Chiron set). Overall, it was a fun build even if it wasn't as challenging as other sets. The wheels seemed to sit a little high above the fenders more like an offroad vehicle than a race car due to the suspension springs, but that's just a nitpick. The only downside is the sheer amount of stickers. Full disclosure, I don't like Lego stickers. For a few dollars more, I would recommend the Lego Land Rover Defender instead as it was more challenging, has less stickers, and has better functionality. ... show more

  • Be ware of packaging! But great product nevertheless!
Color: Multicolor
I have ordered many Legos in the “frustration free packaging” type before, and this was the first instance where they literally slapped the shipping label right onto the Lego Box. Normally, they ship it in the Lego Manufacture’s cardboard box, but that did not happen this time. Luckily, I just cared for the build itself, so this was not a deal breaker, but as any Lego fan could tell you, there is nothing like a nice and healthy Lego box. Although that did not occur this time, I loved the build, and I would recommend this Ferrari 488 over the Technic Porsche RSR. They are both great models, but this Lego kit (in my opinion) just looks much better. ... show more
