Kids can build Bowser’s iconic Airship to display and enhance their LEGO Super Mario universe with this Expansion Set (71391). The ship can be arranged in ‘flying mode’ or folded out in ‘course mode’, and players must overcome challenges such as Bowser’s Mecha Hand and a POW Block to pop a Rocky Wrench from its hiding place. (Note: the 71360 or 71387 Starter Course is required for play.) The set includes Kamek, Rocky Wrench and Goomba figures, plus a Cannon Start Pipe – use it to begin a 90-second level. Children can play solo, team up or compete against a friend with their LEGO Mario or LEGO Luigi figure. And look out for the free LEGO Super Mario app, which has building instructions, creative inspiration and more. I enjoyed building legos when I was a child, and have put several dozen sets together for my son and now for my 3 year old daughter for whom this set was bought. However, this one took me approximately 10 hours to complete. The instructions were very easy to follow, it’s just time consuming. It was worth it though because my daughter loves it. I wish it came with an actual bowser character, but there is a bowser head on the back of the ship that has an action block. It’s crazy to me that it costs $100, but it is a large set and follows suit with all of the Mario Lego prices. If this piece is for a child that does not enjoy the build, I would suggest putting it together beforehand to avoid being asked about every ten minutes if it is finished yet. ... show more

My 6 year cried when he received this for Christmas. Everything came perfectly with no missing pieces. This is the only lego he plays with that he doesn’t try to destroy lol. We purchased this for my 5 year old and he was able to follow the directions and assemble with guidance. We didn't realize when we purchased that there is a sold separately set with Mario that will be able to "Jump" on the characters and it's like the Super Mario game. The Mario scans the little barcode lego tiles and then the Mario plays corresponding sounds like the game. We are all excited about it. ... show more
