  • Overall fantastic, small things I didn't like
I disliked that there is a crank on the back that allows the right arm to be swung. This is unlike other figurines like this one. I did not like that Darth Vader is significantly taller than other figurines. I understand after his cybernetic enhancements he was taller (due to his new legs being longer than his last ones) but he should not be an entire head and a half taller than all the other figures. This sounds as if I am not happy with the set, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. His detachable helmet is a nice addition. His armor and cape are portrayed very well. Plus it's Darth Vader, how can you be unhappy. ... show more

  • Awesome!
My geeky son is almost 24, and hard to shop for. He loves computer stuff (he's a programmer) and video games, but what else can I give him for Christmas in any given year? Fun T-shirts, a couple of books, and--- ?? This year I decided to try a Lego set, because he loved Lego when he was a kid. I am delighted to report that he still loves Lego. I gave him this Darth Vader set (just over 12 inches tall, and his arms raise and lower so he can wield his light saber), and a Storm Trooper (a little shorter, with a laser gun that shoots). He got a huge kick out of them, assembled them that evening, and now has them displayed on his bookcase. ... show more

  • Darth vader action hero?
This Darth Vader looks impressive when comparing against all the other Lego action figures I put together. He was fun to build, poses like all the others around knees and elbows etc. He is just as (un)stable as all the others. That said I like him because of his iconic image. It took me around 30 minutes (with a good amount of distractions) to put together. ... show more

  • Kind of flimsy
I have been collecting these lego action figures and a constant complaint I have had is they are necessarily complicated and a bit of a pain to put together...and they really do require superglue as they will shatter into a million pieces if dropped. Anyway, this is a different animal. It's distinguished by the "building kit" designation. It is quite different. Firstly, if anyone remembers the bionicle series Lego had (still has), this model is similar and uses kind of the same principles of building an internal skeleton framework and with the exterior being plastic plates. Less pieces but feels fragile...kind of like a plastic paper doll in a way. Still the finished product does look nice...unfortunately it's about 12 inches tall and towers over the other action figures which tend to be about 9 inches tall. I am going to put this one on display separately and pick up the regular brick Darth Vader action figure. Unfortunately the building kit series also has storm troopers and boba fett which I also am tempted to get but these guys are all too tall. ... show more
