  • Still Great, Civil War Avoided
Little background: this is our 10th year in a row with the Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar, one each year since our oldest was born. As last year wrapped up we feared the worst as we would have to add in the youngest of four to the mix this year, reducing all of the kids turns to 6 a piece. Welp, after last year's review (https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R13E0LP7WBL25G?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_srp) the moment of truth came upon us. We spent months trying to figure out what to do, fearing the fight that may ensue after the kids picked sides. In April I discovered #2 was hoarding nerf bullets while #1 was stocking canned food. #3 had very curious maps of the neighborhood including tunnels I have yet to actually find. #'s 2 and 3 clearly had an alliance as we had predicted but #1 was keeping #4 at arms reach. After meeting with local leaders and sitting down with HRT we reached the Feces Armistice of 2021 whereby it was agreed that since #4 was not yet potty trained only #'s 1-3 would participate in the Advent Calendar. In exchange for maintaining their eight turns each of #'s 1-3 would have to share two desserts over the 24 days. Each was a assigned a share day randomly to avoid further conflict. The kids made it clear that the armistice expired December 26. I'm not sure what will happen in 2022. The conditions leading to the Feces Armistice have become null. Each is getting older, stronger, and smarter. I stupidly taught and encouraged them to play Risk so they have begun to learn more complex strategy than "nuh-uh" or "yuh-huh". I fear for my neighborhood and the collateral damage that could ensue, but we'll try our best to work it out. ... show more

  • Boys love it
2 boys live in this house that loves legos. 11yo and 13yo. The 13yo is more in love with Star Wats and The Mandalorian and Boba Fett, but everyone in our house loves Grogu (and IG-11 for mom). So….before the opening began, I had them write the top 3 items they wanted for better sharing. Fighting ensued. Some skin was lost. But in the end, most were happy. Until my oldest decided to be cunning. Who knew that Grogu’s carrier was separate?!? Ugh!!! In the end, peace reigned it’s lovely head in our house once more (for about 2 minutes, or when one is sleeping) ... show more

  • My husband loves this!
Being a guy and a Star Wars nerd, my husband loves this advent calendar. Every morning he gets a cup of coffee and goes straight to this and puts together the day's figure. He used to do it in front of me and would carry the entire calendar to my work at home office so I could see him put it together. I think he finally realized I'm not as excited about it as he is and the last few days have been solo projects. I must admit that it's pretty cool if you're into this kind of thing. Maybe next year there will be a Mandalorian advent Calendar. ... show more

  • Perfect for the Lego lover.
My youngest is a Lego nut. This calendar is perfect. He gets a daily surprise and something fun to make every day. The items are like little maker kits with simple instructions and the box is designed to provide a diorama setting for your finished products. I love that he proudly shows me what’s happening every day with his characters as he completes each of the daily kits. Definitely worth it if you have a little builder and want something other than candy as a daily treat. ... show more
