Lego is huge in my house. Finally got around to building Optimus Prime and it was fairly straight forward - an easy build. Put the pieces together in sections the arms, body, snap them together as you go along. The weapons fall apart a little too easily but it’s a nice gift for anyone who loves transformers. ... show more

It's huge! It looks amazing! It was an all day project! It was fun, I like taking my time enjoying the process. It was great going through bag after bag building up components to make something cool. (I'm not a huge fan of the axe, and didn't see the point of the energon cube, so they are sitting in a bag with other Lego blocks ready to be made into something new) There are a couple things that could be improved, but overall, i love it. ... show more

LEGO has done an excellent job at rendering the leader of the Autobots in assembled plastic, and I must say it's >this< close to being perfect. The Good: Optimus Prime is beautifully crafted in all his G1 glory. The detail is astounding and the chrome highlights are an excellent touch. The inclusion of the various weapons are a delight as well. This 1500 piece set has a nice heft to it. You know you're holding it. The Bad: The thumbs can be a little flimsy, so be careful when handling or moving the figure. The ion cannon attaches to the arm, rather than being gripped in the hand. The Awful: The joint in the middle of the torso is EXTREMELY loose and makes for a wobbly and slightly unstable toy. Grasping the toy incorrectly can result in an unscheduled disassembly. Be gentle.
