If you have a kid who loves the game, this set is perfect because it captures that "desert biome" vibe so well. The build itself is fun and not overly complicated, but it has enough cool details—like the desert outpost and the cacti—to keep them engaged for a couple of hours. The real highlight of this set, though, is the figure selection. Getting four figures in a set this size is a great value. The Illager figures look exactly like they do in the game, and my son loves setting up "raids" against his other LEGO Minecraft builds. The Ravager-style build is also surprisingly poseable and sturdy, which is great for actual play rather than just sitting on a shelf. As with most LEGO Minecraft sets, I love that it’s modular. He’s already started rebuilding the layout and connecting it to his other sets to make one giant desert landscape. Such a fun LEGO set! My son loved to build it and he loved that you could actually shoot the little arrow things! It's small but still a great set. It took my 8 year old about 30 minutes to build it all on his own. He has played with it after it was built more than he has any other LEGO set he has.
