A small amount of background-- like many people I grew up playing with Legos. I absolutely loved building the castle sets and think about those times quite fondly. That was over 20 years ago, and I haven't built a set since. When I saw the blacksmith's house online, I thought it looked amazing. As a big fan of medieval architecture, the building really caught my eyes. I had never heard of the Lego Ideas concept before, so was quite surprised to learn about all that. I got sick and so decided to buy this, as I knew I was going to be stuck inside the house for quite a few days. WOW, what an impressive product! I built it over a few days, and had so many jaw dropping moments where I just had to stop and marvel at how creatively the designer crafted this unit. The amount of details in the set are mind boggling, and yet it never feels overdone or like things were slapped on. Ever brick was so lovingly considered in this set. I HIGHLY recommend it. TLDR: if you you like medieval architecture, appreciate good design, and have an eye for detail, treat yourself and GET THIS SET! ... show more
