My granddaughter loves to put these things together. I just wish it would take her a little longer. We've developed a way of working that lets us both participate. Each time we open a new bag of parts we spend time laying them all out, organized by color, and similarly shaped pieces next to each other. We call it "organizing the yard" as you would for a crane lifting pieces for a building construction. Then she assembles them. I'm allowed to put the clear pieces into the window frames. This was a birthday gift and it turned out to be the perfect gift! It went to a seven yr old girl who became deeply engaged with the whole process. She has over Lego projects that she has completed but this one was a bit more complicated and she enjoyed the challenge . I see more of these in her future. So for me, it was rewarding to have selected a Lego set that gave her fun, a little challenge and lots of enjoyment seeing her efforts and time turn into the finished project. While some 'Friends' sets are just more people with a few random trinkets, this set stands apart as it is a joy to play with for hours on end. It is obviously well thought out and my daughter (who owns a few dozen similar sets) spends a lot of time enjoying the art school.
